Four talented teams will contest Wednesday evening’s Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup Semi-Finals.
Mary I, managed by Jamie Wall, have been efficient throughout this year’s competition, with the quarter-final win over TUS Midwest another encouraging result.
Declan McLoughlin missed that triumph, but Devon Ryan, Shane Meehan, and Shane O’Brien delivered important scores for Mary I.
SETU Waterford impressed when defeating SETU Carlow with Patrick Fitzgerald and Pádraig Fitzgerald in excellent form.
Fintan O’Connor’s charges will be hoping to be similarly dynamic against Mary I with Tom Barron and Robbie Hanley contributing handsomely for SETU Waterford.
University of Galway, with Jeffrey Lynskey in charge, face a demanding assignment against holders UL, who have an accomplished panel.
Last week Galway produced a splendid display when overpowering MTU Cork with Tiernan Killeen, Colm Molloy, Niall Collins, and Gavin Lee spearheading the challenge.
Similar levels of industry and class will need to be demonstrated against UL, who have been motoring smoothly this year again.
UCC contributed handsomely to a decent encounter against UL, who pulled clear in the closing stages as Mark Rogers struck a crucial goal.
Brian Ryan’s panel includes TJ Brennan, Darragh Lohan, Colin Coughlan, Adam English, and Gearóid O’Connor.
