PATRICKSWELL GAA CLUB NOTES
PWC HURLING ALL STARS: Patrickswell GAA are delighted that Diarmaid Byrnes, Cian Lynch and Aaron Gillane were awarded Hurling All-Stars over the weekend. It was a testament to all their hard work and effort in 2020. Having three club players on the Hurling Team of the Year is a remarkable achievement. Additional congratulations are due to Nicky Quaid of Patrickswell National School and the other five Limerick recipients. Well done to Gearoid Hegarty for being named as Hurler of the Year.
COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS: Inter-county competitions are not covered under Level 5 exemptions for elite sports. The GAA’s estimation is that on-field activity will not be permitted until Easter at the earliest. With this in mind, the extended delay will have a natural impact on inter-county and club programmes.
Once clarity has been given, the GAA will push ahead with developing a programme for the remaining time left in the 2021 calendar. A revised Master Fixture List will be prepared once the Government Roadmap for Society and Sport is made available.
CLUB RAFFLE: Patrickswell GAA Club are running a raffle with lots of great prizes to be won. The entry fee is €10 and the draw takes place on March 6. You may enter through the following channels: sign-up sheets available in McDermotts Circle K, Next Door Off Licence, Centra and Nash’s Butchers, pay online at patrickswellgaaclub.swoofee.com (include your name and insert the reference “raffle”), or get in touch with any senior hurler. If you’re not in, you can’t win!
The prizes include a selection AG Sports products, a signed Limerick All-Ireland jersey, a signed Conor Murray Irish Rugby jersey, a hamper from McDermotts Gala, a selection of goods from Next Door off-licence, a €100 voucher from Hodkinson’s Centra, a €100 voucher from Nash’s Butchers, three recovery sessions with Liam Mulcahy physiotherapist and a Bluetooth speaker from Jack Fitzgerald Electrical.
CLUB LIMERICK DRAW 2021: Confirmation has been received that the Club Limerick Draw will return in March 2021. The draw is a regular feature in Patrickswell and Limerick’s fundraising calendar – with hundreds of prizes available every year. We would ask existing Patrickswell subscribers to support the draw again. New members are most welcome. When more detail is received, your promoter will be in touch.
