Patrickswell GAA Club Notes:
Camogie:
Patrickswell’s epic season ended with an All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Bridini Oga of County Antrim at a chilly Blanchardstown. While Rachel O’Grady gave Patrickswell a quick lead with a point, our opponents tool control with devastating effect. Their equalising point was followed by a penalty goal and five additional points without reply. By the 22nd minute, Bridini Oga were 1-6 to 0-1 ahead. Their second goal was a hammer blow, that was supplemented with two more points. At the interval, Patrickswell were thirteen points behind at 2-8 to 0-1.
The second half began brightly as Rachel O’Grady scored two points and Ciara Barry hit the net. By the 40th minute, Patrickswell were eight points adrift at 2-8 to 1-3. However, the ‘Well did not score for another twenty minutes as Bridini Oga hit a third goal and another point to cruise twelve points ahead at 3-9 to 1-3. Roisin O’Brien’s consolation goal brought down the curtain on a marvellous season which delivered a County title, promotion to senior camogie and a Munster crown.
