Patrickswell GAA Club Notes:

Minor Hurlers:
Patrickswell were pipped by Belville Gaels in the Minor Hurling Championship opener. After fifteen minutes, Ryan Foley had scored all Patrickswell’s six points to build a 0-6 to 0-4 lead. The next ten minutes were a devastating blow for Patrickswell. Belville Gaels notched three quick-fire goals and a point to establish a 3-5 to 0-8 lead despite Josh Mulcahy and Dayle McDonagh’s points. Rory Foley and Ryan Foley trimmed the deficit to five points at 3-6 to 0-10 just before half-time.
The second half started favourably as Jack Kelly bundled in a goal from close range. Four points from Ryan Foley and another score from Rory Foley ensured level scores of 1-15 to 3-9 after 45 minutes. The remainder of the match was fought tooth and nail. With five minutes left, the teams were inseparable at 1-18 to 3-12 (Ryan Foley 0-2 and Dayle McDonagh). Indeed Patrickswell took a narrow one-point lead when points from Dayle McDonagh and Ryan Foley eclipsed a Belville Gaels point. There was a few minutes left and the ‘Well held a minimum 1-20 to 3-13 lead. Unfortunately Belville Gaels closed the match with two late points to break Patrickswell hearts 3-15 to 1-20.
