Patrickswell GAA Club Notes:
 
Senior Hurlers:
Patrickswell suffered defeat in the opening City senior hurling league fixture away to Na Piarsaigh. The hosts began at a fast tempo and notched three points in two minutes before Mark Carmody registered Patrickswell’s first point. However Na Piarsaigh stretched their advantage to 1-9 to 0-4 after 15 minutes, with Patrickswell reliant on Patrick Kirby frees. The remainder of the first half was closer as Patrickswell added five points (Patrick Kirby 0-4 and Evan Fitzgerald) to counter Na Piarsaigh’s five points. The Caherdavin men reached the interval at 1-14 to 0-9 ahead.
Na Piarsaigh flew out of the traps in the second half and accrued five points in contrast to Patrick Kirby’s trio. By the 40th minute, Patrickswell trailed by 1-19 to 0-12. Four points from Mark Carmody, Andrew Carroll and Patrick Kirby 0-2 put Patrickswell 1-24 to 0-16 behind with ten minutes left. There was no reprieve as Na Piarsaigh added a second goal and five points to outpace Patrick Kirby’s brace and a Mark Carmody point. The final score was a 2-29 to 0-19 reverse. Patrickswell are scheduled to host Monaleen on Saturday March 22 at 3.00pm.
Club Membership:
Club membership for 2025 is now open, with prices unchanged from 2024. For March onwards, only lump sums will be permissible. Every player must pay membership to ensure they are registered with their governing body and covered against injury.
Club Lotto:
The Club lotto draw on Tuesday March 11 was not won. The numbers drawn were 4, 18, 20 and 30. The bonus number was 23. The €50 Lucky dips were won by Luke Anderson and Clare Bowman while the €20 prizes were claimed by Nichole Leigh, Marie Franey, Killian Ryan, Edward Hayes, Lisa Lennane and Donie O’Gorman. This week’s jackpot is €19,000.
