Patrickswell GAA Club Notes:

U21 Hurlers:
The U-21 hurlers ended their campaign with an exciting draw against Cappamore. John Kirby was in fine early form as he scored two points from play in the opening minute. By the 10th minute, Cian Gorman and Patrick Kirby had built a 0-4 to 0-2 lead. The next ten minutes were finely balanced as Patrick Kirby notched a trio of frees, while Cian Gorman and Jack McNamara contributed points. The scoreline by the 20th minute was 0-9 to 0-7. Patrickswell edged the closing stages of the half and led by 0-12 to 0-9 at the interval (Patrick Kirby 0-2 and Christy Carroll).
The second half was barely thirty seconds old when Cappamore equalised with a goal. Almost immediately, Patrick Kirby and Cappamore traded points. The pace of scoring dropped significantly on the cold night. Cappamore failed to score for 14 minutes as Patrick Kirby helped himself to three points. The score in the 45th minute was 0-16 to 1-10. In the next five minutes, Patrick Kirby’s pair of points was sandwiched between four Cappamore points. There were ten minutes left and the advantage was a minimal 0-18 to 1-14. Billy Earls struck a point, but two Cappamore scores restored parity at 0-19 to 1-16. Billy Earls gave Patrickswell an excellent chance at the start of injury time, but Cappamore secured a draw with a last gasp point. The curtain came down on the hurling season with a 0-20 to 1-17 draw.
