PATRICKSWELL
JUNIOR B HURLERS: Patrickswell earned a hard-fought draw against Na Piarsaigh at home. The ‘Well led by 0-4 to 0-1 by the tenth minute; however Na Piarsaigh roared back with three consecutive points in two minutes. Over the next ten minutes, the sides traded two points apiece. The Caherdavin men hit the front with a goal to make it 1-6 to 0-6. Patrickswell dominated the closing minutes of the first half to trail by a solitary point at 1-7 to 0-9 at half-time.
The second half began with a flurry of Patrickswell goals. Paul O’Brien smashed home the first goal and then he used one hand on the hurl to drive home his second goal. The goals were followed by another point. By the 40th minute, the ‘Well were 2-10 to 1-7 ahead. Na Piarsaigh replied with three straight points and then the teams exchanged three points apiece in a high-scoring spell. There were ten minutes left and Patrickswell led by 2-13 to 1-13. Na Piarsaigh equalised with their second goal and the match ended with a 2-14 to 2-14 draw.
INTERMEDIATE HURLERS: The Intermediate hurlers were beaten 3-16 to 3-12 away to Doon.
INTER-COUNTY HURLERS: Congratulations to Diarmaid Byrnes for his performance with Limerick against Clare in the fourth match of the Munster Championship.
CLUB LOTTO: The Club Lotto draw on Monday May 9 was not won. The numbers drawn were 3, 28, 29 and 31. The bonus number was 12. The €100 Lucky Dip was won by Patrick Kirby and the €20 prizes were claimed by Michael Hogan, Mary McCarthy, Paul O’Neill, Mary O’Neill and Marian Burke. This week’s jackpot is €14,800.
