Colin Ryan Runner Up in Poc Fada:
Hard luck to Colin Ryan who was runner up in the All Ireland Poc Fada recently in the Cooley Mountains. Former winner of the competition Colin took the same number of shots as the winner Fionan Mackessy of Kerry but was beaten to the top spot thanks to the Kerry man’s 62 metres he added on compared to Colin’s 16 metres. Clare hurling star Peter Duggan was in third position.

All Ireland Ladies Football Final:
Hard luck to the Limerick Ladies football team and management and especially to our own Sarah Dillon who were narrowly beaten by Down in Croke Park last Sunday. It was a tight game all through in which Down scraped over the line by 1-7 to 0-8. Let’s hope the experience will strengthen their determination to get back there again and finally climb those famous Hogan steps.

Intermediate Hurling Championship:
Pallas got off the mark following a three point victory over Hospital/Herberstown in Kilteely last Friday evening. A battling first half performance was the key to this success as they were 1-7 to 0-9 ahead playing against the elements. The second half Pallas were dominant and with some fine scoring were in control of this tie, but in the last ten minutes Hospital/Herberstown scored two goals to make a nervy finish. Pallas held out for a deserved win on a scoreline of 1-18 to 2-12.
