Pallasgreen GAA Club Notes:
Club AGM:
The Annual General Meeting of Pallasgreen GAA Club took place on Saturday evening, December 6th, attracting an excellent turnout from club members and supporters. The meeting marked a period of transition for the club, with notable changes to the top table following a year of commitment and progress across all areas. Before the election of new officers, the outgoing executive delivered comprehensive reports detailing the club’s activities and achievements throughout 2025. Particular tributes were paid to outgoing Secretary Mick Lawton, who announced his decision to step down after many years of dedicated service. In his final address, Mick outlined the club’s progress over the past year and reflected on the evolving demands of the secretary’s role. He expressed confidence that the position would benefit from a younger and more vibrant presence and extended his best wishes to the incoming executive, noting that exciting times lie ahead both for the club and the wider community. Interim Chairman Denis Ryan also vacated his position, having stepped in earlier in the year following the departure of previous chairman Jimmy McMahon. Outgoing Treasurer Alan O’Dwyer announced that, after five years managing the club’s finances, he felt it was an appropriate time for new leadership to take over. All three outgoing officers were warmly thanked and applauded for their exceptional commitment and service to Pallasgreen GAA. The following were elected to the club executive for the coming year: Chairman: Aidan Foley. Vice Chairman: John Gammell. Secretary: Margo Greene. Assistant Secretary: Gillian Deere. Treasurer: Justin Phelan. Assistant Treasurer: Gary Fraher. Registrar: Michael O’Keeffe. PRO: Ger O’Connell. Irish Officer: Siobhan English. Coaching Officer: John McKenna. The position of Children’s Officer was not filled on the night. It will be appointed at the first meeting of the new executive, allowing time to identify suitable individuals and to encourage new members to join and contribute to the club’s future development plans. The meeting closed with a strong sense of optimism for 2026, with members expressing confidence that the newly elected executive will build on the solid foundations laid by their predecessors. The club looks forward to continued growth, both on and off the field, in the year ahead.
Congratulations:
Congratulations to our club players who have excelled in their roles and made it to the county development squads; well done to Juliette McKenna and Ella Hartnett making the County U14 Camogie Dev Squad. Well done also to Anna Ryan, Ella Hartnett and Molly Deere who have been selected to the County U14 LGFA panel for 2026. Best of luck to all involved.
