Condolensces:
The club would Like to offer its condolences to the family of the late Michael Ryan of Nicker. Michael was, in every sense, one of life’s true gentlemen. Genial by nature and generous in spirit, he carried himself with a quiet dignity and a ready smile that made others feel instantly at ease. He had that rare ability to say much with few words, and when he did speak, it was often with gentle humour, thoughtful insight, or warm encouragement.
Though not known for taking to the field himself, Michael was, in many ways, the heart of his beloved GAA club in Pallasgreen. He was the ever-reliable fifth man on the sidelines always there, rain or shine, cheering from the edge of the pitch or lending a steady hand behind the scenes. His presence was a constant: not loud, not showy, but deeply felt. It was in the little things, the word of encouragement, the quiet organising, the pride in the jersey, that his love for the club and parish shone through. Over the years, Michael wore many hats. As Vice Chairman and team selector, he helped shape countless young teams and supported generations of players. But his impact reached far beyond roles or titles. He was there at matches, fundraisers, meetings, and gatherings wherever his support was needed, Michael was never far away. His absence will be felt not simply for what he did, but for who he was: a constant, a supporter, a friend. He was deeply proud of his late brother, John Ryan, a gifted hurler and much-celebrated figure in the club’s golden years of the sixties and seventies. Michael often spoke of John with affection and pride, and it was clear that his brother’s legacy lived on in Michael’s own service to the club. He was also very proud of the Limerick senior hurlers and took great joy in their unprecedented success over the past number of years, a golden era that brought him immense pride and satisfaction.
