Pallasgreen GAA Club Notes:
Co Intermediate Hurling Championship:
The Intermediate hurlers began their championship campaign last Sunday with a spirited display against Murroe-Boher in Cappamore. Despite a disrupted build-up during the week with several key players unavailable, the team showed great resolve and commitment from start to finish. The game was closely contested throughout the opening half. Pallas matched their opponents stride for stride, with determined defending and sharp shooting keeping them in touch. A well taken goal before the break ensured they remained firmly in the contest, trailing by just four points at half-time on a scoreline of 0-13 to 1-9. The second half saw both sides continue to battle, but as the minutes wore on, Murroe-Boher managed to edge ahead. Despite Pallas best efforts, they struggled to narrow the gap enough to mount a late challenge. A few missed opportunities proved costly as Murroe-Boher held firm to see out the game. In the end, the visitors emerged with a hard-fought win, finishing 1-16 to 0-14. While disappointed not to come away with the result, Cappamore can take pride in a gallant performance that showed plenty of promise for the games ahead.
