Pallasgreen GAA Club Notes:
East Limerick Gaels Award:
Congratulations to John Gammell on the richly deserved honour of being awarded an East Limerick Gael award on Friday, December 27th, at the Millennium Centre in Caherconlish. Also on the night, Ger O’Connell got a surprise award from the East Limerick Gaels Awards committee for his service to the Limerick Senior Hurling team as Kitman spanning over 17 years, Mick O’Connell of the Knockane Club was also honoured. Congratulations to John, Ger and Micko.
Road Hurling:
A huge thank you to everyone involved in the Road Hurling Tournament on St Stephen’s Day. It was a fantastic event, set against a breathtaking course from Old Pallas along the foothills of Nicker Hill to Nicker, and culminating at the Pallasgreen GAA Pitch. Both young and adults came out in great spirits, embracing the wonderful December weather, and thoroughly enjoy the fun, banter, and camaraderie along the way. At the finish line, everyone was treated to a warm cup of soup, kindly provided by Willie Crowe. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all participants and to everyone who helped organise the event. A special thanks to our sponsors, Mulcair Electrical, Tallybrooke Engineering and Pallasgreen GAA for their generous support. Also to Kieran Ryan Benson for taking the photographs on the day. Congratulations to the winning team of; Chris McMahon, Eddie Mulcahy, and Jimmy Fanning. Second was the team of; Aaron Greene, Conor Linnane and Mikey Daly. Third was the team of PJ Butler, Conor Roche and Sean McNamara.
Membership:
Following on from the AGM, club membership rates for the 2025 season is as follows; Players €60, Non Player €40, U18 €50 and OAP €20. Membership to be paid on or before March 31st 2025. Also at the first committee meeting of 2025, Aidan Foley was ratified as the new Club Registrar.
County Call Up:
Congratulations and best wishes to the following players who received call ups to the various Limerick teams for 2025. U20 Football Tadgh Hourigan, Shane Pearse and Padraic Phelan and also their team mate from Kilteely/Dromkeen Charlie Holmes. Limerick Ladies Gaelic Football Minor Team; Hannah Fealy and Emily Franklin.
