Intermediate Hurling Championship:
The intermediate hurlers played their last game of the championship in Clarina last Saturday afternoon. In a spirited display and with nothing but pride to play for, they hurled well for periods up against one of the favourites of the competition in Croagh. Playing against a stiffest breeze in the first half, Pallas were behind by 0-14 to 0-7. The second half was a more competitive encounter but the fitness and sharpness of the Croagh side proved decisive and saw them winning on a scoreline of 0-22 to 1-12. U16 Hurling:
The U16 hurlers crossed swords with Kildimo/Pallaskenry last Saturday afternoon in Pallas in the division 2 shield semi final. The game proved a tough and exciting encounter with little separating the sides at the finish. But the honours went the way of the City side by 0-12 to 0-10; Team Noah Murphy Ryan, Paddy Hourigan, Jack Fraher, Paddy O’Dwyer, Daniel O’Connell, Cathal McKenna, Ryan O’Connor, Connor O’Dwyer, Charlie Stokes, Conor Lane, Shane Purcell, Sean McNamara, Noah Deere, Richie Enright, Daire Long. Junior A Ladies Football:
The Pallasgreen Junior A ladies football team took on Ahane in a critical championship clash in Ahane last Sunday morning with a semi final spot on the line. The weight of the occasion was felt from the first whistle, as both sides battled fiercely throughout the first half. By half time the teams were deadlocked 3-6 apiece, a test to the grit and determination shown by both camps. Ahane came out strong in the third quarter and edging ahead by a goal. But true to their spirit, the Pallas ladies never wavered. With around 15 minutes remaining they clawed their way back to level terms, and from that moment, the game swung in their favour. Surging forward, they showcased skill, teamwork and wonderful spirit to power ahead and secured a comprehensive victory by 7-11 to 4-8. U14 Girls Football Final:
Hard luck to the U14 girls who suffered defeat to Dromin/Athlacca/Banogue in the County Final last Saturday in Athlacca. In a high scoring game came out on top by 5-10 to 2-11. Team; Danielle Mulcahy, Jennifer Meehan, Keva Gleeson, Caoimhe Grace, Lucy Dillon, Ava Walsh, Isabelle Riordan, Emma Carroll, Kathleen Ryan, Andrea Connolly, Meabh O’Connor, Lily O’Donnell, Nicola Gleeson, Kelsey O’Connor, Sarah Gleeson. Heart Screening Service:
Advanced Medical Services provides an on-site Doctor-led Cardiac Screening service for clubs nationwide, their service is ultimately aimed at reducing the incidents of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) in Ireland and promoting a healthier lifestyle. They are going to run a clinic for all Pallasgreen GAA, Camogie & LGFC members age 12+ in the Community Centre in Pallasgreen on Tuesday 29th October from 9.30 to 5 o’clock (mid term).
Each screening takes 20 minutes and they can screen 45 people per day.
They provide an online booking system, when the 46th person applies for screening, a waiting list will be opened. If people cancel their booking you will be offered an appt and if demand is there a second day can be added so its important to leave your name. The fee for the Cardiac Screening service is €79 per person. Laya Healthcare members are entitled to a complimentary cardiac screening once every 2 years but registration still required.
We hope to get the Dillon Quirke foundation screening next year, this is a free (voluntary contribution) service, were on their waiting list.

Pallasgreen Gaelic Games Funday:
Pallasgreen Juvenile GAA, LGFA and Camogie Clubs invite all children and family members to a family fun day on this Sunday September 29th at 2.30pm in the GAA Pitch. There will be lots of fun activities including Obstacle Course, Dunk the Coach, Hanging Tough, Toy Tractors, Face Painting and much, much more. There will also be a BBQ and tea & Coffee available. All are welcome and especially new members to come along to the family fun day and to experience what the club has to offer, to view the facilities, which have been improved and developed over recent years, and most importantly to have fun.
