Pallasgreen GAA Club Notes:
Intermediate Hurling Championship:
Another narrow defeat was the result in this fourth round tie with Murroe/Boher in Cappamore last Sunday evening after a determined and hard fought effort. With the teams deadlocked at the break 0-8 each, Pallas had the advantage of a strong breeze. The second half they fought bravely as Murroe piled on the pressure and to go seven points up at one stage. But Pallas never gave up and scored three goals in the last ten minutes and a comeback was within reach. But we ran out of time and Murroe/Boher won on a scoreline of 1-23 to 4-10. Team; T McMahon, K O’Donnell, K McMahon, N McNamara, P Roche, C Ryan, K Barry, C O’Dwyer, T Franklin, D Murphy, C McMahon, T Hourigan, R Corbett, R O’Donnell, P Phelan. Subs; P Franklin, E O’Malley.
U14 Hurling Semi Final:
Hard luck to the U14 Hurlers and their Kilteely-Dromkeen team mates as they were beaten by a fine Adare side in the Division 2 championship semi final in Rathkeale last Saturday afternoon. As the old cliché in GAA goals make a difference and this was the case in Rathkeale as Adare won by 5-10 to 3-10. But credit to the boys who never gave up and fought bravely in one of the top divisions in the county. Well done to all players, and coaches who now look forward to the football semi final this Saturday. Team; Darragh Kennedy, Ben Bohan, James Foley, Conor Hourigan, Paudie Blackwell, Paddy Hourigan, Sean Hourigan, Sean McNamara, Noah Deere, Nicky Cosgrave, Elliott Stokes, John Stokes, Conor Hanley, Paraic Bourke, Jack O’Dwyer. Subs; Jakob Murphy Ryan, Darragh Lane, Evan Erskine, Adam Smalle, Oliver Gleeson.

Pallasgreen LGFC:
Sport is a game full of surprises, where you can dominate throughout but still end up losing in the end. That was the scenario last week when the Junior ladies football side took on St Senans in Pallas, with Pallas dominant in most sectors but missed a lot of scoring opportunities in front of goal. Yet credit to the opposition who took their chances well and came away victors on a scoreline of 4-10 to 1-10. Team; Leah Butler, Ella Connolly, Hannah Dillon, Catriona Dillon, Kaelin Ryan (0-1), Ciara McNamara, Niamh Mulcahy, Grace Leadan, Aine Dillon, Sinead McGuinness, Eabha Hourigan (0-1), Sara Dillon (0-1), Roisin O’Connell, Caoimhe Butler (0-7), Cliodhna Ryan. Subs; Jessica Gleeson, Lisa McGuinness, Roisin McCarthy, Aoife Purcell, Lauren Franklin, Emily Franklin (1-0).
Junior B Hurling:
The junior B hurlers had a busy few days of action in the East Championship. Earlier in the week they played a fine Murroe/Boher side who ran out comfortable winners in Pallas by 4-22 to 1-15. Following this defeat Pallas remained in the competition and in the quarter final where they took on Ahane in Boher last Saturday evening.
Minor Hurling Hurling Championship:
The minor hurlers travelled along the N69 last week to Askeaton to take on the home side ABK Desmonds in the fourth round of the group 2 championship. The home had that bit extra to carry them over the line to win by 2-14 to 2-10.
