JUNIOR LADIES COUNTY FINAL: A gallant performance by the junior ladies football team who just came up short in the County B final last Saturday in Croom against Gerald Griffins. A young Pallas team who came into the final unbeaten were up against an experienced side in Gerald Griffins who proved resolute and especially in defence where Pallas found hard to bridge. At Half time the score read Pallas 0-5 Gerald Griffins 1-5. The second half Pallas were playing a lovely brand of football but when they seemed to have cut the deficit another Griffins goal killed their impetus. Tried as they did they couldn’t get through a stubborn defence to salvage the game. After a fine tussle Gerald Griffins came out on top by 2-6 to 0-9. Well done to the girls and their management on a great year and certainly the future looks bright for this young team. Well done also to all the supporters who travelled and especially all the members of the juvenile club who travelled by bus to support the team.
