Sunday 14th January 2018, saw Limerick win the Co Op Superstores Munster Hurling League final played in The Gaelic Grounds when they defeated Clare by 0.16 to 0.10, after losing out to Clare in 2016 and Cork in 2017 by the narrowest of margins in both finals. It was to be the first silverware to be won under John Kiely’s Management of Limerick Senior Hurlers.
It was the start of a great period for Limerick Hurling 2018 – 2020, winning Two All Ireland Senior Hurling Championships Titles (2018 & 2020) Two Division 1, Allianz Hurling League Titles (2019 & 2020), Two Munster Senior Hurling Titles (2019 & 2020), Two Munster Hurling League Titles (2018 & 2020), while Two Munster Titles were won by the Minor Hurlers (2019 & 2020)
