On this date Sunday 23rd. February 2020, Limerick Senior Hurlers and Footballers were back in action in Allianz League games, where the Footballers had a home game in Mick Neville Park Rathkeale where they had Wicklow as opponents in Round 4 Allianz Football League Division 4,Limerick had already scored League wins over Waterford, London and Carlow to sit at the top of the table, while Wicklow had two wins from three outings and needed a win to stay in contention for League honours. It was Limerick who really turned on the power to score a well deserved 5.10 to 0.14 win, after leading at the interval by 3.08 to 0.07, with ten players on a very impressive score sheet. The win put Limerick top of the League table on 8 points from four outings
Meanwhile the Hurlers were in action in Pairc Ui Caoimh in Cork where they played the home side in Round 4, Allianz Hurling League Round 4 game, with victories over Tipperary and Galway, with Round 3 v Waterford deferred, Limerick travelled in confident mood and at the interval led by 0.17 to 0.11. The home side had a great start on the resumption of play and the sides were level Limerick 0.20 Cork 1.17 after eleven minutes of play. Cork went into the lead when they scored their second goal 2.18 to 0.21. Entering the final quarter the sides were deadlocked and had the crowd of 11,212 at the edge of their seats but it was Limerick that finished the stronger outscoring Cork by 0.08 to 0.03 to score a well deserved win by 0.29 to 2.21 to maintain their unbeaten run in 2020.
