Old Christians GAA Club Notes:

Junior Hurling Championship:
Our men’s hurling team kept their quarter-final hopes alive with a thrilling 4-16 to 3-17 win over 14-man Patrickswell in the Woodlands House Hotel County Junior A Hurling Championship in Crecora on Sunday.
With the breeze at their backs, the Rathbane men hit a devastating second quarter, outscoring the Well 4-5 to 0-3. Dylan Blackhall and Brian Cleere both struck twice in a three-minute blitz, while Cleere added another after pouncing on a rebound. At the break Christians were ten clear, 4-11 to 2-7.
Patrickswell, however, stormed back after the restart. Gavin Carey struck a superb solo goal after a string of points to reduce the margin to three. Despite losing captain Tom Nolan to a second yellow, the Well-kept battling, with scores from Kevin Earls, Andrew Quinn and Peter Harty cutting the gap to just one as the game ticked into injury time.
Christians, though, found the composure they needed. Blackhall, who had led the line superbly all afternoon, slotted over in the second added minute to stretch the gap to two and seal a vital win.
