Old Christians GAA Club Notes:
Junior Hurling Championship:
Our junior hurlers played out a dramatic 1-10 to 0-13 draw against local rival Claughaun in dreadful conditions in Monaleen on Saturday evening, as the Limerick Junior Hurling Championship. A first-half goal from Dylan Blackhall looked set to seal victory for the Rathbane men, but a late Claughaun free deep into stoppage time ensured the sides shared the points.
Both teams traded early scores in a lively opening, with Blackhall’s goal giving Christians a narrow lead at the break. They pushed four clear early in the second half, but Claughaun clawed their way back despite going down to 14 men late on.
Heroic goalkeeping at both ends and relentless pressure from Claughaun set the stage for a last-gasp equaliser, capping off a thrilling contest between the two rivals. Next up is a trip to Ballybrown next Sunday, where Christians will take on Kildimo Pallaskenry at 3pm.
Stars of the future cheer on their heroes:
The next generation of Old Christians superstars took centre stage at halftime during Saturday’s championship clash against Claughaun in Monaleen. Twenty young players showcased their skills in front of a big, supportive crowd before cheering on the junior men’s team in what became a thrilling draw.
For many, it was their first live men’s championship experience—one that will surely inspire dreams of lining out in the Old Christians jersey at the senior level. Saturday’s outing is set to be the first of many for these rising stars, and we hope many will come to cheer on the hurlers again next week against Kildimo-Pallaskenry.
To top off a memorable evening, the group enjoyed a well-earned Supermac’s before heading home. A special thanks goes to Paul Howard, Gary Culbert, Dick Butler, Phil Madden, Éanna Mackey, Tobin Buses, and Supermac’s Roxboro for making the night a success.

Inclusion Camp:
It was a great honour to host the Inclusion Camp for the second year running, in conjunction with James Ryan and the Games Committee. Over the course of three fantastic days, the camp was filled with fun, energy, and community spirit.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Denise Deegan, as well as Vivien and Chloe Culbert, who kindly provided refreshments for all parents. Their support was invaluable and these events simply wouldn’t be possible without their help.
