Adult Fixtures 22
Our first competitive game of 2022 is Rd 2 All County Football League v St. Senans, this game goes ahead in Newcastle West (weather permitting and Ball stopping nets having been replaced) at 3 p.m on Saturday 26th March. We would advise checking Club Zap social media or indeed any club member well in advance of throw in, as game may have to be played in Foynes. Our 1st Rd v St Kierans scheduled for last weekend was postponed at St Kieran’s request. We wish our adult footballers and their management team the very best of luck for the season ahead.
Féile Peil na Nóg 2022
Our U15 panel played in the group stages of Féile Peil na Nóg on Friday last, March 18th. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be our day. After a great start against Drom/Broadford and plenty of opportunities to add to our lead Drom came back well in the second half to win. Shannon Gaels were very strong and deservedly group winners. After giving it their all in the first two matches the lads had very little left in the tank against Belville Gaels who got off to a flying start playing with the wind. Our boys played better (with the wind) in the second half but we had given up too much of a lead to chase down. All our matches were played in Coolyroe and we thank Belville for their hospitality. Athea/Shannon Gaels progressed as Group winners and won their Semi Final v Na Piarsaigh before losing to Ballylanders in the final.
Juvenile Fixtures
All Juvenile fixtures have been uploaded to our mobile app – Clubzap – please download to keep updated with fixtures and results. Best of luck to our U15 Hurlers who are our first underage team to take to the field in the first fixture of the 2022 Championship season!!
