We had no U17 fixtures in the last week. Our next fixtures are on the hurling side and will be against Kilacolla Gaels in Ballyagran on Monday the 29th of August, and this will be quickly followed by our final group match against Belville Gaels on the 31st of August in NCW. Next up in football will be St Senan’s on the 12th of September.
All Ireland u 16 hurling weekend
Best wishes to Diarmuid Lyons and Cathal Hayes who are with the Limerick u16 panel next Saturday in Mallow for the All Ireland u 16s weekend. Diarmuid was an excellent captain in a recent win over Cork while Cathal played well in the forwards. Congratulations to both.
U15
Our final U15 championship group fixture took place on the 15th of August, and we are awaiting the results from the remaining matches in the group to determine whether we will progress to knock out competition.
U13
Our U13 hurlers faced Killeedy Tournafulla in their final group match in the 2022 Division 2 hurling championship, and they put in a huge performance to lose out narrowly on a scoreline of 6.4 to 3.8. The opposition had a 100% record in 10 matches in the championship and great credit is due to our boys for their performance, and the strides they have made since the start of the season where we faced the same opposition in a challenge match. We now face Granagh Ballingarry on the 25th of August in Newcastle West to decide who finishes 3rd and 4th, and we will then move to the semi-final stage where we will face Killeedy Tournafulla or Patrickswell.
We are also in a playoff in U13 football, we face Na Piarsigh in NCW on the 1st of September, and the winners will travel to Kildimo Pallaskeny on the 8th of September to decide who comes 2nd in the group and move to the championship semi final, and who will enter the Shield semi final.

Matche Reports
County premier u 19 hurling semi final Bruff 2-12 NCW 0-10
After two high scoring entertaining victories against Mungret and Patrickswell we travelled to Mick Neville on Tuesday night in big numbers expecting a cracker against Bruff in the county semi final. Unfortunately the game never got out of second gear and this very talented bunch didnt do themselves justice on the night. However Bruff were impressive and didnt make it easy for the lads.
A vicious cross field breeze made scoring very difficult. Also the recent dry weather left the field very rough in patches which led to a lot of mistakes controlling low balls. We started slowly and allowed Bruff to dictate the game. We battled away and the score was 8 to 4 at half -time.
In fairness to our boys they started the second half brightly and the game reaches a fair level of intensity. We got to deficit back to 2 on the 40th minute and it looked like our lads might find their feet. However a killer goal from a long ball gave Bruff a 5 point cushion which they never relinquished. A late great individual goal by Bruff midfielder put the icing on the cake for them.
All in all it was a positive campaign from the boys with great wins in the group stages over Mungret and Patrickswell. They will be dissappointed to have finished the campaign like this but there is a great bunch of players here which hopefully will be the foundation of the adult teams for the next decade or so. Thanks to management team of Derry McMahon Mike Mulcahy and John Donovan.
