National Allianz Cumann na mBunscol week to involve thousands of children:

National Allianz Cumann na mBunscol takes place this week from today, Monday June 10, until Friday, June 14.

This week has proven to be a massive success for the last few years with thousands of children taking part annually.

Last year’s National Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Week was the biggest yet with hundreds of schools participating in what was a hugely successful activity week.

Daily activities were set in hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, handball and rounders by some prominent inter county and television stars such as Tipperary All Ireland Senior Hurling winning captain, Tommy Dunne, Cork Senior Hurler, Luke Meade, Tipperary Senior Hurlers, Jake Morris and John McGrath, Armagh Senior Footballer, Greg McCabe, Cork Senior Ladies Footballer, Emma Cleary, Limerick Camogie Star, Caoimhe Costello, Armagh Senior Hurler, Fintan Woods, Cork Camogie Star, Chloe Sigerson, Kilkenny Senior Hurler, Padraig Walsh, RTE Sports Presenter, Evanne ní Chuilinn, Breaffy Rounders Star, Katie Kenny, Cork Senior Footballer, Cian Kiely, Rounders All Star, Shane Sheridan and Kilkenny All Ireland Senior Hurling Winner and multiple All Star Winner, Eoin Murphy .

There was huge engagement on social media with these daily activities. Tommy Dunne’s skill video alone generated a staggering 120,000 impressions on Twitter. Our menu of activities proved very popular with schools participating in skills challenges, recreating famous match scenes, interviews with teachers, art competitions, friendship games, jersey days and much more.

This year’s activity week will see more of the same, so keep an eye out on our X account @cnambnaisiunta where we will be posting activities daily. Remember to tag us and use #AllianzCumannnamBunscolWeek24.

This year Dublin senior footballer Ciaran Kilkenny, Cork senior hurlers Seán O’Donoghue and Alan Connolly plus many other intercounty stars will have messages of support and skill challenges for the children to participate in during the week.
