NA PIARSAIGH GAA CLUB NOTES

GO GASTA
A very big well done to our 5 participants Sarah Waters, Risteard O Flaherty, Cormac Benson, Joanne O Brien and Sophie Duggan. Unfortunately our 6th member Daragh O Gorman had to withdraw through injury and we wish him well in his recovery. The team were put through their paces in a series of obstacles in a race against time and against team Mungret St Pauls.
They were met by some horrific weather at times but nevertheless they ploughed on. They were brilliant on the day and are extremely proud of all five.
Tune in to TG4 in early new year to see how they got on.
UNDER 12 HURLERS
Our under 12 set off on a journey to Galway yesterday to take part in a blitz organised by Craughwell GAA.
A great day hurling and a very successful one for our lads who played 3 games winning them all.
Our opponents were Kilmacud Crokes from Dublin, Sylane of Galway and the hosts Craughwell.
Well done to Finbarr and the parents who made it a great day. A great sing song made the bus journey home a shorter one.

CAMOGIE
Our senior camogie team had their first outing back at the top table when they entertained County Champions Kileedy in Na Piarsaigh.
We fielded a very young side with the added experience of Laura O Neill , Sinead and Aideen McNamara, Katie Campbell, Niamh Tuite and Jane Wilson.
This was a very good test for our girls and they more than lived with our illustrious opponents with the game nip and tuck most of the way.
We trailed by a single point at half time on a 0-5 to 0-4 score line. The second half we well level and could well have hit the front but for some inaccurate shooting.
In the final few minutes experience told for our opponents who added 3 late points to leave the final score Kileedy 0-10 na Piarsaigh 0-6
We now await our 2nd game in 2 weeks time against Granagh Ballingarry.
Team : Laura O Neill, Laura Ahern, Niamh Tuite, Jane Wilson, Jess Ward, Sinead McNamara, Katie Campbell, Aine O Tiarnaigh, Aideen McNamara, Eva Long, Enya Harrington, Orla Hickey, Rachel Considine, Rachel Murray, Lizanna Boylan.

Unfortunately we had a serious injury to Sarah Murray and we keep our fingers crossed that it wont be too bad.
