Na Piarsaigh GAA Club Notes:
Senior Hurler’s Score 2-point Win Over Monaleen:
We came away with a hard fought win against a decent Monaleen side last Saturday evening in Peafield. Our opponents looked lively from the outset, scoring 3 points to our 2 before Keith Dempsey settled the nerves, burying a goal. Will Henn had a free on the 21 that he took quickly to an unmarked free Keith. He brought it towards the 14 and rifled the ball to the net. Both teams exchanged points for the remainder of the half with us leading by a point at the break, 1-08 to 0-10.
We started the second half strongly with Conor Boylan registering a goal and a point. Unfortunately for Conor, he also registered a red card in this period, getting his marching orders for a late swipe on the Monaleen full back. We had to dig deep for the remainder of the game, our opponents making the most of the numerical advantage. Jerome had a commanding performance at centre back while Emmet, playing in the fullback position, never gave Monaleen a sniff of a goal chance. The scores were level late on when Downsey was summoned to the forwards, having played most of the game at wing back. He registered 3 points for the day, with his most important coming after the hour had passed. Mark Hogan made his first senior appearance as a late sub, winning a crucial free on the stroke of full time. Will Henn slotted the placed ball and the ref blew for full time. Final score: Na Piarsaigh 2-14 Monaleen 0-18

Junior B Hurlers Go Down to Strong Murroe Boher Side:
Our Junior B hurlers suffered a loss in round 3 of the league to a strong Murroe Boher on Sunday afternoon. While the result didn’t go our way, we had some promising performances all over the park from a very young Na Piarsaigh side. Final score: Na Piarsaigh 1-11 Murroe Boher 2-21. We play South Liberties in the next round on the 24th of April, in Dooley Park.

We received a walkover from Monagea in the Intermediate league.
Limerick Minors:
We had 4 lads involved with the Limerick minors last Friday evening as they lost out to Waterford in round 2 of the Munster Championship. Marcus lined out in goals while David O’Keeffe scored a point from midfield. Danny Sheehan played the full hour at wing forward, with Shane Waters scoring 8 points from placed balls. Limerick’s next game sees them take on Tipp on the 18th of April. Eoin Brosnan, James Finn and John O’Keeffe will be involved with the Limerick U20’s as they take on Waterford on Wednesday evening in Dungarvan.
Baby Joy for Emma and Kevin:
Huge congrats to Emma & Kevin McNamara on the arrival of their daughter Caoimhe this week. Fantastic news for the McNamara and Casey families.
Luca Ryan & Kieran Daly Fly the Na Piarsaigh Flag in the Mackey Cup:
