Na Piarsaigh GAA Club Notes:

Peter Boylan: 42 Years Supporting Na Piarsaigh Street Leagues:
We extend our heartfelt thanks to life member Peter Boylan for his valued support of Na Piarsaighs underage teams, especially our annual Street Leagues. As we enter 2024, we celebrate 42 years of invaluable contributions from Peter and his family to the development of future Na Piarsaigh and Limerick stars.
On Tuesday evening, Peter presented a generous cheque to Bord na nÓg Chairman Paul McNamara and Secretary Lavinia Duggan.

Trad Night:
Our next Trad Night takes place on Thursday the 7th of November.
Once again, Cathal King will be joined by some of our younger members plus some special guests to play a few tunes. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Dan Hickey Memorial Tournament:
The Dan Hickey U14 Hurling Tournament takes place in the club on Saturday the 9th of November at 2pm. Newport, Scariff and Dan’s boyhood club Cappawhite will all travel in to take part in what should be a great afternoon of hurling.
Originally hailing from Cappawhite, Dan Hickey first moved to Limerick as a teenager to take up an apprenticeship with the ESB in Ardnacrusha in the 1950’s. He would win a minor hurling championship with Claughaun before lining out for Treaty Sarsfields at senior level for a number of years. Dan was central to the development of Na Piarsaigh from the early 1970’s right up to his passing in 2015. He served as club secretary from 1976 – 77, chairman from 1978 – 86 and was carrying out the role of culture officer at the time of his passing. At County Board level Dan served as Oifigeach na Gaeilge and as Chairman of the Limerick Development Committee. A fantastic servant to both Na Piarsaigh and Limerick GAA, Dan will always be remembered fondly as a true gael.
