Na Piarsaigh GAA Club Notes:

Féile Peile na nÓg:
Our under 15 footballers are in action next weekend as the Féile Peile takes place in Adare. Our first match pits us against Dromcollogher Broadford. This throws in at 11.00. Our second games sees us facing Ballybrown at 12. Then comes Newcastle West at 1pm followed by Adare at 2pm. All four games are being played in Adare and we would love to see string support row in behind our lads. Best of luck to all involved.

Limerick:
There were 4 Na Piarsaigh men in the starting 15 for Limerick in their 1-point victory over Tipp on Saturday evening. Mike Casey lined out at corner back with William at midfield. Conor Boylan resumed his position at wing forward while Peter Casey was selected at corner forward. Both Conor and Mike were on the scoresheet for Limerick. Yes, you read that correctly, none other than Mike Casey making the long journey all the way up from the corner back to pop a ball over the bar. And a valuable point as it turned out with Tipp getting a late goal to make the scoreline look like a much tighter affair. The game finished on a final score of Limerick 0-26 Tipperary 3-16.

Schools Hurling – Ardscoil Rís:
Ardscoil Rís had an impressive win over Midleton CBS to claim the O’Dowd Cup last Wednesday. Na Piarsaigh’s Shane Waters stared at midfield scoring a total of 9 points, 8 of which were frees. Outside of the scores he clocked up, Shane had a strong influence on the game from the centre of the field. Also on the panel from Na Piarsaigh were Sean O’Brien, Sean Connolly, Charlie Ryan, Darragh Kirwan, Rian McHugh, Ronan Gleeson and Aodh Keating. The final score was Ardscoil Rís 3-17, Midleton CBS 2-08.

Inter-Firm:
H&MV Engineering were victorious in the All-Ireland Intermediate Inter-Firm final last Thursday evening beating Clancy Cleantec on a score-line of 4-23 to 2-15. Na Piarsaigh’s Gearoid Synnott lined out at wing back for H&MV while James Daly was sidelined for the final due to injury. Brian Buckley was a selector for the Limerick engineering firm also. The road to the final saw H&MV drawing with Unijobs in the first round, beating the Limerick Garda in the second game, while overcoming St. John The Baptist Teachers in the semifinal. Well done to all involved.

3rd Level:
Well done to John Fitzgerald and Dylan Lynch on winning the All-Ireland Junior Title with UL last evening beating UCD 1-20 to 2-14. John lined out at full back while Dylan was at the opposite end of the pitch in the full forward position. This the second All Ireland title the lads have added to their armoury after winning the Croke Cup with Ardscoil back in 2022.

U14 Limerick Camogie:
Congrats to Rosie McCaul, Charlotte Noctor and Siún Kelly on being selected for the U14 Limerick Camogie squad. We would like to wish the girls all the best for the season ahead.
