Na Piarsaigh GAA Club Notes:

Senior Hurlers:
Our senior hurlers were back in action on Sunday when they made the short trip to Monaleen to take on the locals. A good lively game with some fine scores on both sides.
It was great to see such a sprinkling of young lads on the team dotted around the experience of the older lads.
Our backs played very well superbly marshalled by Vince Harrington at full back and Mark O Connor and Gearoid Synnott either flank.
Bradley Moran chipped in with 2 fine points to add to his very encouraging performance for the young man.
Wayne Kearns at midfield added an extra dimension with Keith Dempsey while Josh Sheehan at wing forward also adding a point and adding smartly to a half forward who worked extremely hard. Kevin Daly and Dylan Lynch worked hard and proved good foils for Adrian Breen to profit chipping in with 6 points from play.
Others to see valuable game time were Pa O Neill who chipped in with two points and Marcus Hogan also showing well in what was a good outing for the lads.
No doubt the addition of these young crop will satisfy the management as they prepare for the championship in the weeks and months ahead.
Final score in Monaleen was Na Piarsaigh 0-24 Monaleen 1-16
Scorers: Adrian Breen(0-6), Will Henn(0-8), Bradley Moran (0-2), Josh Sheehan(0-1), Keith Dempsey(0-2), Pa O Neill(0-2), Kevin Downes(0-1), David Dempsey(0-1), Wayne Kearns(0-1)

Senior Footballers:
No such luck for our senior footballers who fell to defeat at the hands of Claughaun on a 1-8 to 0-5 scoreline. A very poor first half performance with quite a few regulars not on view for this one. A much improved second half performance and no doubt will give the management plenty of food for thought. Next up for the lads is a trip to Monaleen next Sataurday at 3pm.
