Na Piarsaigh GAA Club Notes:
Limerick:
We commence by congratulating all concerned with the county teams.
First up the Limerick Senior hurlers had a great battle with Tipperary before finally seeing off the tough challenge. We had 4 lads on the pitch by the end of the game namely Mike Casey back at full-back who had a good outing. Will O Donoghue at midfield was very prominent throughout while Peter Casey grabbed the all-important goal in the second half. Conor Boylan also came off the bench in the latter stages of the second half. They face Kilkenny in the League final on Easter Saturday most likely in Thurles.
The Limerick under 20s also had a great win over Waterford with John Fitzgerald prominent at full back. The minor hurlers also opened their account over Waterford and in spite of terrible conditions came out victorious on a 1-7 to 0-7 with John O Keefe and Eoin Brosnan part of the squad.
The Limerick minor camogie squad also has 2 Na Piarsaigh players involved with Lucy Murray and Caitlin Ryan involved.
The Limerick Senior Camogie was also in a battle and had a last-gasp victory over Offaly to secure 1B status in the league. Na Piarsaigh had 4 representatives in the form of Laura O Neill in goals, Aine O Tiarnaigh at wing back with Lizanna Boylan and Noirin Lenihan amongst the subs.
Congrats also to Eileen Herbert selected on the Under 14 squad for the season ahead.
Senior Football:
Our senior footballers opened their account in the All-County Football league with a narrow victory over St Patrick’s on a 2-7 to 2-6 scoreline. Having led for long stages they had to come back near the finish to secure all the points. Next up for the lads is Claughaun in round 2
