INTERMEDIATE HURLERS
Massive congratulations to our Intermediate hurlers who annexed the County Intermediate Hurling title yesterday with an excellent victory over a very dogged Croagh Kilfinny outfit.
Played in Ballyagran on a wonderful surface and huge credit must go to Castletown Ballyagran for their facilities on the day.
Playing against the breeze in the first half we hurled very well and got some excellent scores form Pat Gleeson x2 , Kieran Daly and a long range beauty from the evergreen Alan Dempsey to race into a 4-point to nil lead. We were hurling well into the breeze anbd further points from Evan Sweeney x2 , Pat Gleeson free and Davy Sheppard had us 8 points to 2 in front on 20 minutes. Croagh to be fair fought back well to add four points of their own unanswered to leave it at 8 points to 6 before Pat Gleeson increased the lead on the stroke of halftime with a pointed free and 9 points to 6 lead at the break.
Another long-range beauty from Alan Dempsey had us out to 10 points before Croagh Kilfinny again responded with 4 unanswered points to draw level on 40 minutes. 2 more pat Gleeson frees stretched us out again before a third point from wing back Alan Dempsey was added to a third from Evan Sweeney.
The decisive score came on 54 minutes when super sub-James Daly rifled the ball to the Croagh Kilfinny net to send us further into the lead. Further points from John Fitzgerald Mark Daly and Pat Gleeson sealed a brilliant victory for the James Ryan-led County champions.

CLUB NA NOG
Our underage nursery found up proceedings for 2022 with our street league finals.
We had a special guest visitor who presented the children with selection boxes and Will O Donoghue was also on hand to present the medals.
It was great to have Fr Johnny Daly, Fr Tom Carroll and Peter Boylan who got the street leagues rolling 40 years ago. We really appreciate your efforts and we lucky to have your inspiration.
Well done to all concerned with the underage especially all the coaches who put in massive work all year..
Special word of thanks to James Ryan and his committee for their trojan work all year.
