U-15 DIVISION 1 HURLING
Mungret St. Pauls 3-10 Doon 3-5
Our U-15 hurlers made the trip to Doon on Monday 28 March 2022 for their first round of the Championship. They were expecting tough competition which is what they got but our players pulled out all the stops and improved their game as it went on and succeeded in getting a win in their first game. Wel done to our players and their management.
NEVILLE CUP
Well done to the 6 #MSPCamogie players who took part in the Eithne Neville Cup on Tuesday 29 March 2022.
Abbey, Saoirse, Sophie, Aibhlinn & Meabh (City) and Rosa (East) represented the club proudly as always but both City and East teams were unfortunate to be narrowly beaten in the Semi Final.
MACKEY CUP
We are delighted to have Mark Nelligan and Darragh Ryan representing Mungret St. Pauls in the Mackey Cup City team this year. They put in a great game but were just shy of two points by the final whistle.
U-13 HURLING
We had two teams out on Thursday 31 March 2022 fielding 33 players who all got game time. Our Division 2 team played in the Crescent Comprehensive against Patrickswell where they improved as the game went on. Patrickswell were cleaner on their scores but Mungret St. Pauls fought well to attack the ball and gain possession on the field. A four point loss for Mungret St. Pauls on their first game out.
Our second team, Division 3 travelled to Knockainey where they met with a very strong side who dominated the game. Our younger players took the challenge and never let their team down as they battled on to the end, while they took a loss they worked hard as a team and showed great determination. There was a rumour that Knockainey will require a new goal net after Mungret St. Pauls goal scorer almost took the net off the goal with the shot he scored.
Well done to our U-13 players and management.
SENIOR HURLING
Mungret St. Pauls 1-11 Monaleen 2-20
In Monaleen on Saturday 2 April 2022 our Senior hurlers fielded for the first time since being promoted. Monaleen looked a cleaner outfit as Mungret St. Pauls found their footing. There was an impressive score built up by Mungret St. Pauls but Monaleen topped it to take the win.
COUNTY PLAYERS
Well done to #MSPCamogies Jenny Ryan and Olivia Kerins who played on Saturday 26th Mar for the Limerick Junior Team against Clare Camogie.
Mungret St. Pauls are delighted for Killian Ryan who got to play a Final in Croke Park with the Limerick Footballers, something only a few of our members have a claim to. Unfortunately for Limerick, Louth hit a surge in the second half and came off in second place. Thank you to the supporters who have followed the Footballers on their journey over the last few years, Killian was delighted to be able to enjoy his day in Croke Park with fellow club men, Eoin Ryan and Ronan McElligott along with the rest of his family and friends.
