MUNGRET ST. PAUL’S GAA CLUB NOTES

INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL

Mungret St. Pauls 1-10 Ballylanders 3-15
In UL Maguire All weather pitches, on Saturday 7 March 2020 the Limerick Motor Centre sponsored Intermediate Footballers got their league matches started. There was a very strong breeze on the day with Mungret St. Pauls got the game started with 2 points and went on to double it while Ballylanders got off the mark with their own 2 points. By the end of the first quarter both sides pointed once more. The final part of the first half was a slower scoring game with Ballylanders hitting back hard with a goal and two more points, Mungret St. Pauls only managed another 2 points leaving the half time score 0-6 to 1-5 to Ballymanders.
The restart was more a Ballylanders game as they put more pressure on our players, Mungret St. Pauls slip ups were punished . Mungret St. Pauls pointed 2 points to Ballylanders scoring another 2 goals and 10 points. It was in the dying minutes of the game where Mungret St. Pauls started to flourish and they notched up a fantastic goal and 2 points while they stopped Ballylanders scoring anymore but it ended up too little too late.
This team are out again next Saturday in Mountcollins.

U10 LADIES FOOTBALL

Saturday 7 March 2020 our U10 girls took part in the annual Limerick LGFA Club Go Games blitz held at the new Maguire’s Pitches complex in UL. Teams from 13 clubs from all over county Limerick took part in the first blitz of what promises to be a busy year for this age group. We fielded two teams, playing games against Oola, Feonagh-CastleMahon, Ahane, Old Mill, Ballylanders and Drom-Broadford. Over 25 girls represented MSP on the day, and the girls gave a great account of themselves, playing some great football and giving their all for the red-and-white.

A big thank you to all the parents who travelled in such great numbers to support the girls and to the LGFA County Board in Limerick for well-run and fun day out for all. The U10s are back training as normal next Saturday morning at 11am on the juvenile pitch – new players always welcome!
