MUNGRET ST PAUL’S GAA CLUB NOTES
HEALTHY CLUB
We were delighted with the fantastic turn out of support that come out to take part in our Operation Transformation and Ireland Lights up walk on our first night, Thursday 9 January. Don’t worry if you missed it there are still another 5 weeks to go. It takes place every Monday and Thursday at 7.30pm starting in Mungret St. Pauls GAA club with a walk along a 5K route or a 10K if you prefer the bigger challenge.
We recommend a €2 donation each night you walk with all the donations going to St Gabriel’s Respite Centre. We look forward to seeing you all at the club house.
TRAD SESSION
We are thrilled to see such an active group of young musicians in the club when the club lounge was heaving with young and old playing a wide range of musical instruments the next session will take place on Sunday 16 February from 5pm to 7pm
LAND DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
We have recently been granted Planning permission to develop a new pitch on lands purchased from Limerick City & Co Council. This is fantastic news for the Club and for all codes Hurling, Football, Camogie and Ladies Football. Of course along with this permission comes the need to start fundraising so that we can commence development works.
We will be making an application for National Lottery funding, however to meet the criteria required for this funding we need to have certain funds available within the Club. There are 2 areas that can used to start this process immediately –
(1) GAA National Draw. Tickets are €10 each and all proceeds can be retained by the Club. We would recommend that every family would purchase a book of 5 (€50) These tickets are available from any club officer or any Monday night in clubhouse. There are also valuable prizes to be won though the purchasing of the tickets. Closing date will be coming up shortly. Further information from Brian O Halloran 086 8349399.
(2) Limerick GAA Development draw .The yearly contribution is €100 and along with the chance to win valuable prizes the Club can retain 50% of each €100 collected, this can be paid in full or by direct debits of €8.33 each month
The CLUB Limerick Draw for 2020 has 30 Cash Prizes with top prize of €10,000 by joining the draw you will also get 10% discounts from Various Venues e.g. Timmy Macs Bistro, Original Irish Hotels, Elverys, Scanlans Menswear, Off The Bone Restaurant, Limerick Race Course, Limerick Greyhound Stadium & JJ Kenneally & Sons Jewelers. €ASH FOR €LOBBER
The club have opened the drop off for the Cash for Clobber. We will greatly Welcome all your clean unwanted, re-usable clothes, bed linen (NO Duvets or Pillows), towels, curtains, paired shoes, belts and handbags. These bags of items can be dropped under the canopy at the back of the club house. Thank you
