AHANE BLITZ 2019
Last Saturday our U6, U8 and U10 girls finished off their football for the year by taking part in the Annual Ahane blitz.
This year’s blitz was held on a cold but dry morning on the perfectly prepared LIT pitches, having been rearranged due to poor weather earlier in the year. It featured over 300 girls representing clubs from all over Limerick, and Mungret St Pauls were very well represented on the day with over 55 girls togged out in the red and white.
Our girls put in a great morning’s football, playing keenly contested and sporting matches and giving the travelling support plenty to cheer. The standard of football on show from all of them was a credit to the hard work they have put in on Saturday mornings over the past year.
A special word for our U6’s who played a series of great games against the host club. Most of these girls were playing in their first blitz and they took to it superbly, showing some super skills – the future of the club looks bright! As always, Ahane club ran this day like clockwork and provided wonderful refreshments for all afterwards. We would like to thank them for organising such a well-run and fun morning, and we look forward to attending again next year.
The coaches would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who have brought the girls to training and blitzes in such numbers since the start of the year. It is very much appreciated. We will take a short break now for the winter before returning in the New Year. Our end of year award night takes place this Friday night, 22 nd of November in the Club House at 7pm, and we look forward to seeing you all there!

1969 TEAM CELEBRATIONS
Mungret St. Pauls are delighted to be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Junior Hurlers win against Bruff. Everyone is invited to come along to the clubhouse on Saturday 7 December 2019 at 8.30pm to help join in the celebrations.
Thank you to everyone who attended the table quiz on Saturday night. There were 42 tables which made for a very busy night for our answer corrector. Thank you to everyone who brought prizes on the night for the well supported raffle. There were a lot of tricky questioned posed by our quiz master, Niall Long which definitely separated the tables but there was a tight finish in the end as the 2 tables that were in lead going into the final round were knocked back and Maria Bailey and the Swingers came racing through to take the first prize. It was great to see players from our juvenile teams taking on the challenge.
The mass for our deceased members took place on Sunday 17 November in Mungret Church. This was a lovely service which was organised by Cian O’Brien and had a selection of our members taking part in the service from all sections of the club. Thank you to the ladies for the refreshments after the mass.
All are invited to a Bingo night being run by the camogie club in the clubhouse on Friday 29 November. Everyone from the age of 7 upwards welcome, or younger if they are able to check off the numbers! Doors open 6:30, first game is 7pm.
The AGM of Mungret St. Pauls GAA club will take place on Thursday 12 December at 7pm in the clubhouse. All nominations and motions to be submitted to the club secretary, Brian O’Halloran by Thursday 28 November at 18.00.
Positions to be filled; Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.

All monies raised from the tickets go to the club which makes this a fantastic fundraiser for the club. Each section has been asked to distribute the tickets to the members.
