U20 Premier Football:
Mungret St. Pauls 3-10 Kildimo Pallaskenry 1-5
Mungret St. Pauls opened their U-20 Premier Football Championship campaign in impressive fashion on Saturday morning, 6 December 2025, producing a composed and clinical performance to overcome Kildimo Pallaskenry by eleven points in Mungret.
From the throw-in, Mungret St. Pauls settled quickest. A point inside the opening minute set the tone, and by the 4th minute had stretched into a 1-1 to 0-0 lead, the early goal giving Mungret St. Pauls the confidence to push on. Accurate shooting and sharp movement in attack saw the advantage grow to 1-3 to 0-0.
A second Mungret St. Pauls goal arrived on the quarter-hour mark, extending the margin to 2-3 before Kildimo Pallaskenry finally found their first score—a well-taken goal. Despite that setback, Mungret St. Pauls carried a deserved 2-3 to 1-0 lead into the break.
Kildimo Pallaskenry emerged with intent and quickly narrowed the gap to a single point with two early scores, but Mungret St. Pauls responded brilliantly. A valuable two-point effort restored breathing room, pushing the lead back to 2-5 to 1-2.
With the defensive unit standing firm and turnovers being turned into scores, Mungret St. Pauls added another point. Though Kildimo Pallaskenry added a point of their own shortly after, Mungret St. Pauls maintained composure and control throughout the half.
The decisive moment came when Mungret St. Pauls hit their third goal of the day, pushing the advantage to 3-6 to 1-4. From there, the home side never looked back. Tireless work from midfield and fresh legs off the bench ensured Mungret St. Pauls closed out the match in style, adding four more points without reply.
By full time, Mungret St. Pauls had built a commanding 3-10 to 1-5 victory, an excellent all-round team performance marked by disciplined defending, intelligent attacking play, and strong impact from the bench.
A superb start to the U20 Premier Championship campaign, giving the squad great momentum heading into the next round against Cappagh Rathkeale.
