Ladies Football Division 4 League Winners
Mungret 4-08 Knockainey 2-09
Huge congratulations to our Junior Ladies Football team who were crowned the winners in the Division 4 League on Tuesday 15th July. It was their second time reaching the final in two years, narrowly being beaten by Galtee Gaels last year. Earlier in the year, this team set their sights on reaching the final again. They had a very competitive league campaign, beating all the teams they came up against except Knockainey who they would ultimately come face to face with in the final.
The match began with both teams getting off to a great start, scores at both ends of the pitch. Knockainey took the lead with an early goal but Mungret kept the scoreboard ticking over. Before the half time whistle, goals from Emer O’Keeffe and Claire Coughlan put Mungret in the lead by 3 goals going in at half time with a score of 1-05 to 4-05. Nothing was won yet and an early goal for Knockainey in the second half put them right back into the game. The second half saw fight and determination from both sides, and every score was hard fought. Mungret had to dig deep and keep their composure to maintain possession and their lead. Mungret led by four points and when the final whistle blew the Mungret cheers could be heard around the pitch. Captain, Lisa Reilly, received the cup on behalf of the team who now have their first piece of silverware, nearly four years on from when this junior team was first formed. Congratulations to all involved, with a special mention to manager Liz Morgan and all the backroom staff who have helped this team in achieving their goal. Many thanks to Meanus GAA pitch for the use of their facilities, to the referee and to all who came to show their support.
Feile na nGael 2025:
On Saturday the 21st of June our Division 1, Limerick Camogie Feile Champions met at #MSPCamogie HQ bright and early to hit the road for Ferns, Wexford where they were to experience a truly special day that will live long in the memories of all involved.
Upon arrival at Ferns, we received a warm welcome from the stewards who were our first point of contact.
The day FLEW from that point on, taking on Young Irelands, Turloughmore and Kilmaley in hot conditions where the girls truly did put up a great battle led by joint Captains Ava Considine & Saoirse Browne.
We had a small break after these 3 matches which gave the girls the chance to catch a breather before their shield semifinal v Blackwater St Bridget’s. A great game followed, with even stephens at half time, then full – leading us into a much-dreaded extra time situation in the sweltering heat. We held our own at the break, but unfortunately our opponents pulled away gaining the win on the whistle.
The girls regrouped at the marquee where they received a talk from Management reminding them how well they represented not just Mungret, but also Limerick on a national stage. While they didn’t come away with silverware on the day, it wasn’t from the lack of trying. Despite being down some regular players to holidays on the day, we were more than competitive, showing the strength and depth of the squad.
We remain Division 1, Limerick Camogie Feile Champions 2025 and for that we will be forever proud.

U-16 Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 0-12 Murroe Boher 1-17
Mungret St. Pauls fell to a strong Murroe Boher side in their latest outing on home turf, as the visitors left with a deserved 1-17 to 0-12 victory in this Round fixture on Monday 21 July 2025.
It was a frustrating evening for the home side, who were forced to chase the game early on after Murroe Boher struck for a well-taken goal inside the opening minutes. That early blow set the tone, and although Mungret St. Pauls responded with some fine points, they went into the break trailing 0-7 to 1-9.
The second half saw Mungret St. Pauls battle hard to claw their way back into the contest. There were spirited passages of play. A series of well-worked scores kept hopes alive, but the elusive goal never materialised, despite some promising forays deep into Murroe Boher territory.
Ultimately, Murroe Boher’s ability to keep the scoreboard ticking and their control around the middle third saw them push further ahead in the final quarter. Mungret St. Pauls kept fighting until the end, finishing with 12 points, but the gap proved too much to bridge.
While the result was disappointing, there were positives to take from the performance, and Mungret St. Pauls will look to bounce back with renewed determination in their next outing.

U-16 Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 3-7 Cappamore 3-10
Mungret St. Pauls’ U-16 Division 3 hurlers put in a determined performance but ultimately came up just short against a sharp Cappamore side in an entertaining clash held at the Crescent Comprehensive pitch on Monday evening, 21 July 2025.
The match proved to be a hard-fought affair from start to finish, with both sides showing great energy and attacking intent. Mungret St. Pauls got off to a bright start, working some excellent scores and showing clever movement up front. The first half scores gave plenty to cheer about. However, Cappamore responded in kind, matching Mungret St. Pauls goal for goal and edging ahead with a flurry of points late in the half.
At the break, the game was finely poised, with neither team able to fully take control.
In the second half, Mungret St. Pauls battled bravely, continuing to press forward and taking some well-earned points. However, Cappamore began to get on top in the closing stages, landing a couple of crucial scores while keeping Mungret St. Pauls at bay.
Despite their best efforts, Mungret St. Pauls were unable to reel in the deficit, with the final whistle blowing at 3-10 to 3-7 in Cappamore’s favour.
While the result didn’t go Mungret St. Pauls way, there were plenty of positives to take from a spirited team display. The players showed heart, skill, and determination throughout, and they’ll look to build on this performance in the matches to come.

Premier Minor Football:
Mungret St. Pauls 4-11 Fr. Caseys 1-9
Mungret St. Pauls’ Premier Minor footballers put in a commanding performance in wet and testing conditions in Abbeyfeale on Tuesday evening, 22 July 2025 coming away with a strong 4-11 to 1-9 win over Fr. Caseys.
The early stages set the tone for the game as Mungret St. Pausl hit the ground running, with their first three scores all hitting the back of the net. The forwards showed great composure and efficiency in front of goal, taking full advantage of early chances and giving the team a crucial cushion on a heavy pitch where clean possession was hard to come by.
Fr. Caseys responded with a goal and two points of their own, keeping the contest alive. Just before the break, Fr. Caseys threatened to close the gap with a dangerous goal opportunity, but the Mungret St. Pauls backs showed great discipline and awareness to clear the danger and preserve the lead.
At half-time, Mungret St. Pauls led 3-2 to 1-3, a six-point advantage that could easily have been less were it not for a crucial defensive stand.
The second half began with an even exchange of points as both sides settled into the rhythm of the game again. Fr. Caseys pushed hard to claw their way back, but Mungret St. Pauls remained composed, gradually extending their lead with a mix of well-taken scores from play and placed balls.
A fourth goal from Mungret St. Pauls midway through the second half put the result beyond doubt, capping a clinical attacking display. The Mungret St. Pauls defence continued to frustrate Fr. Caseys, preventing any real momentum shift as the clock ticked down.
This was a well-rounded performance from Mungret St. Pauls — sharp up front, solid at the back, and composed in difficult conditions. The result keeps their campaign firmly on track and builds momentum heading into the next fixture.

U14 Football:
Mungret St. Pauls 1-5 Monagea 4-6
On Thursday 24 July 2025, Mungret St. Pauls’ U-14 footballers put in a committed display in Monagea but were ultimately undone by a clinical home side, falling to a 4-6 to 1-5 defeat in this Division 1 & 2A clash.
The match began with both sides showing plenty of energy and intensity, but it was Monagea who got off the mark first, capitalising on early chances to edge ahead. Mungret St. Pauls responded with a series of well-worked points and showed great promise moving forward, but a couple of defensive lapses allowed Monagea to strike for goals that proved decisive.
Despite the setback, Mungret St. Pauls continued to battle hard, and a well-taken goal in the second half briefly brought life back into the contest. The team showed good work rate across the field, particularly in midfield and defence, where players worked tirelessly to stem the Monagea attack.
However, Monagea made the most of their chances, finding the net again to put daylight between the teams. Mungret St. Pauls added some fine points late on, but the gap proved too much to overcome.
While the result didn’t go their way, the Mungret St. Pauls players showed heart and effort throughout. There were positive moments in both attack and defence, and the experience will no doubt stand to them as the group continues to develop and progress through the competition.
Plenty to build on, and the team will look to bounce back with a strong showing in their next fixture.
