Limerick’s Fittest Superstars:
I would like to thank all the people from the community who supported our Limerick Fittest Superstars held in Mungret St Pauls’ GAA club yesterday under a mix of sunshine and heavy rain. Your support for our community is amazing.

County Players:
Well done to our 4 X U15 Limerick Camogie players who were welcomed to Glenroe Gaa on Saturday last for 2 matches v Clare and Tipperary.
First up were Lucy Barry and Chloe McAuliffe v Clare – their team produced a brilliant comeback to snatch the win in what was a very high scoring game
Next we had Saoirse Browne and Eilis O’Neill who’s team started like a train v Tipperary and held a good lead throughout the game finishing very strong with some brilliantly worked scores Well done girls! Keep her lit!
Senior:
Hard luck to Vice Captain Ailbhe Larkin and her Limerick Snr Camogie team mates who had a tough day at the office last Saturday against a strong Cork team in Pairc Ui Rinn for the opener of their championship campaign. It was a great performance from the Limerick Senior Footballers when they beat Westmeath by just 1 point on Saturday 31 May 2025. This win now sees them into the Quarter Final of the Tailteann Cup. Mungret St. Pauls are delighted to have Jason Hassett, Darragh O’Hagan, Killian Ryan and Jack McCarthy on the panel with Ronan McElligott and U-20 players Diarmaid Hynes and Tom Lloyd on the extended panel. We also have Pa Ranahan, Michéal Cahill and Eoin O’Hagan on the management.
It was not the Limerick minor hurlers day on Sunday 1 June 2025 when they lost to Waterford in Thurles. Well done to Mungret St. Pauls players Killian Begley and Oisin Donnelly who are on the panel.

Camogie Association votes for change:
Our Camogie players now have the choice to wear Skorts OR Shorts following the passing of a motion by 98% at a special congress meeting in Croke Park last week.
Following Thursday’s vote Camogie Association president Brian Molloy said: “We are pleased to announce that delegates have voted by an overwhelming majority in favour of giving players greater choice in their playing attire.
From midnight tonight, each individual player will have the option to wear skorts or shorts – adding choice while maintaining the professionalism and uniformity of our team kits in both colour and design. “I want to sincerely thank our incredible volunteers for their ongoing support over the last few weeks, and to our delegates for voting on behalf of over 120,000 members, including 94,000 playing members.”
The controversy over whether players should have the option of wearing shorts or skorts really intensified in the last month, with protests staged by teams turning up across the country in shorts rather than the regulated skorts (including our own Junior Team a fortnight ago) leading to match delays and even postponements. Rules had dictated that camogie players must wear a skort, or a divided skirt, for matches, although many players train in shorts. Here are MSPCamogie we are delighted that this motion has been passed, giving the power of choice back to players.
