It was not the best of weather but Mungret St. Pauls Senior Hurlers put in a strong game to overpower Kildimo Pallaskenry. A great result for them where they currently sit in fourth with one win and one loss, there is a little break before they play Ballybrown in the next round.

U17 Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 3-25 Murroe Boher 1-12
In Mungret in an opening game of a double header with the Junior B Hurlers playing after on Sunday 23 March 2025. Mungret St. Pauls were playing into a strong wind in the first half and by half time both sides were level at 1-9 each. Mungret St. Pauls upped their performance in the second half and picked off some great scores, winning on a comprehensive scoreline. They don’t play again until two weeks when they play the final match of their group against Kilmallock.

Junior B Hurling:
Mungret St. Pauls 0-11 Murroe Boher 3-19
On Sunday 23 March 2025 our third hurling team took on Murroe Boher in the follow on from the U-17 Hurling match. This did not produce the same results as the previous game but the players got a good test as they took what scores they could while unlucky to not secure any goals. They are out again next week against Fedamore in Fedamore.

Ladies Football:
Well done to the Ladies football team in competing against an AIB All-Ireland Selection in the AIB inaugural Ladies Challenge Cup. This took place last Friday evening in the inclement weather. Well done to all involved and to AIB for the sponsorship of the Club Championship in 2024, where Mungret were crowned junior All-Ireland Champions. Both teams enjoyed a meal afterwards in the South Court Hotel.
There was a fantastic turnout from the underage Ladies Football section who joined the Camogie and GAA squads for the St. Patricks Day Parade in the City. There was plenty colour and noise for all to hear and see.
Well done to Molly O Mahony, Cáit Murphy and Grace Morgan who played against Cork last week in the Munster Minor football Championship. Cork ran out winners on the day. Limerick face Waterford this weekend.

Raymond O Hagan Tournament:
On Saturday 29 March 2025 our U-13 Footballers welcomed Lissycasey, Oranmore- Maree, Midleton, Bishopstown and Naas to the club for what was a festival of football. There was a very good display of skill and team work on show the whole morning, a morning that Raymond O’Hagan himself would be delighted to watch.
Each team got to play a fourteen minute match against each other which made for a quick game. At the last game it was Oranmore- Maree who had a clean sheet winning all their games, Mungret St. Pauls were next having only lost to the top team, this ment that Mungret St. Pauls and Oranmore-Maree played each other in the Cup final.
The next two teams on the leader board were Midleton and Naas who played for the Shield with Lissycasey and Bishopstown to play a 5th/6th play off.
The Shield play off took place first and it was a tight match between Midleton and Naas with Midleton just getting the extra score to win the Shield. Mungret St. Pauls and Oranmore-Maree were next up just as the weather started to change which made for a slightly slippy pitch. It came down to the final minute with Mungret St. Pauls in the lead as the final whistle blew to be declared the winners of the Raymond O’Hagan cup.
Thank you to the teams for traveling to take part and to all the coaches and parents who were involved with the organising and running of the day, everyone was well fed. The matches could not have been played without referees which we would like to acknowledge.
Mungret St. Pauls were delighted to have members of the O’Hagan family present on the day with Kevin and Eoin helping out in the morning refing matches before they had to run off to Croke Park to see Darragh play in the Limerick Football Division 4 Final. Eamon and Maeve were on hand to help present the shield and Cup to the winning team captains. We would like to thank them for coming along and for their support on the day.

Bord na nÓg Secretary:
Mungret St. Pauls would firstly like to Thank Kevin O’Hagan for his time served as Bord na nÓg secretary over the last few years, he came on board shortly after stepping down from his term as club Chairperson and stayed on in the Secretary role for longer than he expected. Mungret St. Pauls would like to acknowledge his professionalism in his role as secretary and look forward to what 2025 has in store with his current roles in the club as Senior Football coach and Intermediate Hurling coach while also doing a great job refereeing.
With this being said we would like to welcome the new Bord na nÓg Secretary on board, Austin Newman, we wish him well in his new role.

Junior B Football:
Mungret St. Pauls 0-10 Oola 1-10
On Sunday morning, 30 March 2025, in Oola our Junior B Footballers had an early start with the clocks having come forward an hour the 11am start may have thrown some of the players but they pulled their socks up and got on with the game as the sun started to heat up as the game progressed. It was just one kick of a ball that separated the two sides unfortunately for Mungret St. Pauls it was against them with Oola scoring the only goal of the game to win. This is the second loss after one win for the team but they have two more games to play with the next game in two weeks time at home to Knockane.
U17 Football:
Mungret St Pauls 5-5 Monaleen 4-8 (score on Limerick GAA website)
In Mungret on Sunday 30 March 2025 Mungret St. Pauls opened their U-17 Football league against Monaleen. It may have looked like Mungret St. Pauls had the game won by half time as they were 3-3 to 0-4 up by the break but once back out Monaleen started to come back opening the game with a goal. Unfortunately the game ended in confusion as the referee had Mungret St. Pauls as the winners with Monaleen saying they had the score with them having won. The final score on the Limerick GAA website gave the result as a draw. Both teams have Oola to play with Monaleen playing them first and Mungret St. Pauls taking Oola on in three weeks time.

U10 Football:
Well done to all the Mungret St. Pauls U-10 Footballers who took part in a half time blitz on Sunday 23 March in Mick Neville Park, during the break of the Senior Football Limerick V Waterford match. It was a great chance to show off the new Jerseys sponsored by The Crescent Shopping Centre. Thank you to the coaches who organised this and to the players who took part on the day.

Mungret Community College:
Congratulations to Mungret Community College, who overcame Boherbue, from near Mallow in the U-15 E Hurling Final, in the Bog Garden, Rathkeale today, Friday 28 March.
Captain Cian Reilly accepted the cup on behalf of the team with the majority of the players Mungret St. Pauls members. Congratulations to all. I
