Mungret/St Paul’s GAA Club Notes:

Mackey Cup:
Congratulations to the City team who won the Mackey Cup today. Mungret St. Pauls are delighted to have Padraig Ahern, Thomas Slavin, Cian Reilly, Sean Donnelly and Sean Moriarty on the team, well done boys you have made your school, club and family proud.

Neville Cup:
We are incredibly proud to have 8 players chosen to take part in this year’s Cumann an mBunscol – Neville Cup! Chloe, Eilís, Lucy, Ava L, Sophie, Sadhbh, Orlagh and Ava C.

Con and Annie Kirby:
Mungret St. Pauls are delighted to be taking part again for the 10th year in the Con and Annie Kirby Memorial stake. The first races start on Saturday 25 March Gate open : 6.30 pm with the first race starting at 7.43 pm approx. We would love to see you all out supporting this great Limerick GAA event in your club colours.

GAA Easter Camp:
Our GAA Easter camp for boys and girls takes place from Tuesday 4th to Thursday 6th of April. €50 per child with each child attending receiving club shorts and socks.
Places are limited so make sure you book in early to avoid disappointment. Link on our social media for camp entry.

Feile:
It is hoped that this weekend the Feile na Peil will take place this weekend Saturday March 25, our U-15 footballers are hosts to one group where they will start at 10am between the senior pitch and the village pitch. Each match will be 30 minutes long, 15 minutes a side. We first play Fr.Caseys on the Senior pitch at 10am then at 10.45am still on the senior pitch we play Oola and at 11.30am we play Monaleen in the Village pitch.
We would love to have your support out to encourage our players in the first competitive club game of the year for them. Results will be posted on twitter and on the Club Zap app.

Drug and Alcohol Workshop:
On Thursday, 23 March at 8.30pm the club are hosting a 90 minute Drug and Alcohol sport workshop for over 18’s in the Community Centre. All players, parents of teenage players and coaches are asked to attend on the night. It is to inform you about the impact drugs and alcohol have on sports performance.
‘Drugs & Alcohol Explained’ – we will explore athletes lives and substance use paying particular attention to alcohol and cocaine, healthy minds and being positive, what can clubs do, further training opportunities and local support services.

Tuesday 11 April to Thursday 13 April- Easter Camogie Camp.
Sunday 30 April- The Great Limerick Run will be held, Mungret St. Pauls will require Volunteers to help steward in the local area on the day from 9am to 12pm, in return the club will get payment for each steward on the day which is a great way to raise funds for the club. Limerck Players:
Congratulations to the Limerick Senior Hurling team who after their win against Wexford have secured a place in the League Semi Final against Tipperary. Unfortunately for our Footballers they put in a good battle against Kildare in the second half but were just outdone in the end with a last second goal sealing the game for Kildare, the next game against Clare will be the last one in the League as we return to Division 3 next year.
Mungret St. Pauls are delighted to have Conor Mangan, Daniel O’Connell, Conor O’Lonaigh, Liam Ahern and Aaron Morrow named on the U-16 Limerick Football panel with James Flemming on the U-16 Limerick Hurling panel.
Congratulations to Conor Crowley and Seán Duff who were named on the Limerick Minor Hurling panel for 2023
The U-20 Hurling panel was also named by our own Diarmuid Mullins and we are thrilled to have Barry Duff, Billy Molyneaux, Fintan Fitzgerald and Liam Lynch on the panel for this year.
Mungret St. Pauls are well represented this year with 31 male players currently on Limerick panels, we have a club member in both codes hurling and football in each age group – U-14, U-15, U-16, U-17 and U-20, well done to all.
Limerick Minor Camogie:
The Limerick Camogie Minor team got the Electric Ireland championship off to a winning start this weekend when they travelled to Kilmallock on Sunday to face off against Offally. Well done to MSPCamogies Amy O’Halloran and all her team mates on this great debut. Full time: Limerick: 3-14 (23) Offaly: 0-4 (4)
