Busy day for some of our Camogie players at County level on Saturday.
Clodagh Nestor wore the green jersey for Limerick Camogie 15s, who played limerick under 16s c and came away with the win.
We also had Jayne Casey, Sarah Horgan & Molly Tobin for 15a with a win v Waterford. Fair play girls!
COMHGHAIRDEAS to Molly O Mahony, Caoimhe Hennessy, Anna Nealon, Anna Coughlan and Aine Coughlan (Management) who won the Ladies Football Under 14 Munster B Championship Final against Tipperary after extra time. Final score Limerick 2.08 to Tipperary 1.07.
Great to see the U-17 Celtic Challenge back again this year. Best of Luck to all the Limerick Sarsfield panel and their management especially our own Mark O’Brien and Robert O’Brien who will be out this Saturday.
CON AND ANNIE KIRBY
Well done to our entries Rosa Harrington, Sean Donnelly and Caoimhin Dwane in the Puc/ Cic Fada at the #Kirby2022 . Each of our entries hit long shots with Rosa and Sean going through to the Final stages but unfortunately were just a little bit short in the end. Thank you to our players for taking part.
We are through to the Semi Final with thanks to our dog Ballinabola Ed who had a fantastic start which gave him the lead the whole way round the track coming first.
Of course these nights out at the Limerick Greyhound Stadium would not be possible without the very generous support of Noreen and JP McManus which we, Mungret St Paul’s are always delighted to be able to take part in and enjoy the excitement and of coarse take part in each activity organised by the Limerick Greyhound Stadium and Limerick GAA.

LADIES FOOTBALL
In their first outing of the season our U16 team were unfortunate to go down to OldMill meanwhile the U14 team opened their league with a win over Knockainey.
JUNIOR CAMOGIE
We kicked off our Junior League on the 30th March with a win at home over Tralee Sarsfields.
We were delighted to have a couple of new players make their debut with #MSPCamogie as well as 5 minors getting their 1st game with the adult team. A good start to the season for all the girls and Management.
We also met Ballyagran on Saturday evening, away in round 2 of the league. Things didn’t go our way on the night, but we will go again!
U-16 CAMOGIE
Had their first league match at home to Adare on Thursday night. Unfortunately, the match didn’t go our way, but we matched the Adare girls for large parts of the game. We got some lovely scores but time wasn’t on our side. Each girl who played was tenacious and stood up to everything. Well done!
U14 CAMOGIE
On the 29th March we fielded 2 teams at U14s v Kileedy. With one at home and one away we had a very busy night! And although we lost both games, we are very proud of the girls efforts! They kept their heads up and kept going. Well done girls.
U-15 FOOTBALL
Mungret St. Pauls 3-15 Claughaun 1-2
On a cold Monday 4 April 2022 in Claughan our second U-15 football team gave a great account of themselves and the game of football itself. They controlled the game throughout and produced some excellent scores on the night.
SARSFIELD CUP AND LARKING SHIELD
Well done the the East team who overcame the South to be crowded the Sarsfield Cup winners of 2022. Mungret St Paul’s are delighted to have Tadhg Goggin representing us and his school today in the match.
Well done Tadhg and team.
Unfortunately for our players Rosa Harrington and Emma Somers the South were too strong for them in their Larkin Shield Final
U-13 FOOTBALL
Mungret St. Pauls 8-17 St. Senans 2-0
It was a great opening game for our younger U-13 players as they took on St. Senans on Thursday 7 April 2022 in a busy Mungret. This was our division 3 team which is made up of 12 and 11 year olds who gave a great show of football. We were too strong for the St. Senans side who only had 14 players. There were some very skillful hand passes which helped walk the ball through the forwards. Well done to our players and management.
JUNIOR A HURLING
Mungret St. Pauls 3-18 Pallasgreen 2-7
It was a cold but dry and breezy Sunday 10 April 2022 when our Junior Hurlers took to the pitch for the first game of the East Junior A League in Pallasgreen. Mungret St. Pauls had a strong hold on this game as they took the scores on every chance they could while Pallasgreen were only scoring from frees. We were well ahead by half time 1-9 to 0-4 but with a cross wind we could not let our guard down.
The return to the pitch was much the same as the first half with us writing the play book and Pallasgreen picking off scores through frees. There were many attempts on goals for them but our backs worked hard together to deflect the sliotar away, Pallasgreen did manage to slip tow past us but we had scored our own two in the second half to add to the first goal in the starting half.
There is not much rest as they are out again on Tuesday against South Liberties at home.
