MONALEEN GAA CLUB NOTES

COVID-19: The good news delivered by the government in recent weeks was that non-contact underage training in pods of 15 will be permitted from April 26th. However, the date is conditional and will very much depend on what happens in terms of the overall Covid-19 picture in the coming weeks. We must continue to comply wholeheartedly with the restrictions in spirit and in practice. We thank everyone for their compliance in this regard. Monaleen CV-19 outreach team have made a number of runs to Centra Monaleen & SuperValu Castletroy. We’re happy to support our community in these challenging times. Contact Alan at 087 7766022 or Caroline at 087 6448807.

CON AND ANNE KIRBY MEMORIAL STAKE: Luminous Light, representing Monaleen Ladies Gaelic Football, runs in the second semi-final of the 2021 Con & Annie Kirby Memorial Stake at Limerick Greyhound Stadium next Saturday night. Luminous Light, who finished third in his quarter-final, is drawn in trap five. Fingers crossed, he can make it through to the final. Scarty Yank, representing Monaleen GAA, bowed out in last weekend’s quarter-finals.

CUL CAMP: The club has made the diffiuclt not to run Cúl Camp this summer. Unfortunately, the numbers allowed to participate in the camp are limited to 50, and it is very difficult to predict what level of restrictions we will be facing this summer. We are very disappointed, but feel it is the better option. If circumstances improve, we hope to run a number of street league type events, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for that!

LOTTO: The latest Lotto draw took place on Thursday, April 8 with the jackpot standing at €20,000. The numbers drawn were 3, 11, 16 and 28. Winners of the €50 lucky dips were F. Madden, Monaleen Park; G. Fullen, Foxhollow; D. Moriarty, Carrigeen. Thank you for your continued support.
