MONALEEN GAA CLUB NOTES
MEMBERSHIP: Monaleen GAA Club membership is now open and due for 2020. All playing members should pay without delay as there is no cover for any injury sustained in training or matches without membership being paid. The last day for payment for inclusion in any match ticket draws is, as always, March 31st. We appreciate your early attention to this.
MONALEEN GAA HEALTHY CLUB: Monaleen GAA with Lights up and Operation Transformation had another fun and enjoyable community walk on Monday evening. The walks will continue on Monday night next, February 10 at Monaleen GAA Clubhouse from 7.30pm. Participants are requested to meet at the clubhouse beforehand to register. There is no cost involved and the event is open to all members and non-members. However, no dogs are allowed and all children must be accompanied. Participants are asked to wear high visibility clothing, to bring torches and let’s light up our community.
Meanwhile, following on from last year’s hugely successful ‘Weigh Your Age’ initiative by Operation Transformation, Halley’s CarePlus Pharmacy in the Newtown Centre are inviting people to call in any time, free of charge, to track their progress alongside the Monaleen GAA community walks. ANNUAL AWARDS: Monaleen GAA Club Annual Awards Ceremony took place on Friday, January 31 in The Clubhouse Bar. It was a very enjoyable occasion as the club honoured our Clubpersons of The Year, our 2019 Juvenile and Minor winning teams and players, as well as celebrating their successes in 201CELEBRATION NIGHT: Monaleen GAA club Victory Celebration Night will be held in the Kilmurry Lodge on Saturday February 15th at 8pm. Join us in celebrating the successes of the 2019 Junior Football team, and also in honouring our 1969 Junior Football Team who will be guests of honour on the night. Tickets are €25 each and are available from Ross O’Neill 087 4003447, or Caroline O’Kane, 087 6448807 and will be on sale in the clubhouse for the next two Thursday nights between 10pm and 10.30 pm.
U21 HURLING: Monaleen U21 hurlers are due to face Blackrock in Group 1 of the county U21 A hurling championship on this Sunday, February 9 at Monaleen Clubhouse pitch at 12 noon. All support greatly appreciated.

LOTTERY: Our dedicated team of Lotto volunteers will be out and about over the coming weeks. They will be battling inclement weather conditions and political canvassers! Please give them a few minutes at the door steps and a few bob for a subscription.
LOTTO RESULTS: The latest Lotto draw took place on January 30, with the jackpot standing at €20,000. The numbers drawn were 7, 13, 27 and 30. Winners of the €50 lucky dips were D. Crowe, @Leo’s; O. Moynihan, Old Schoolhouse Road; P. Graham, Caislean na hAbhann; J. Kenzie, Killonan. Tickets can be purchased on a weekly basis from local shops and pubs and the draw is held every Thursday night in the club at 10pm.
