The more we collect the more money we raise.
GAA CLUB REGISTRATION: It’s that time of year again when we begin to ask parents to pay their child’s membership. However, with the move to Foireann as the main GAA system, we will be synchronising the juvenile and adult registration to one single calendar year system, as per GAA requirements.
Therefore we will not be requesting you to pay for your children until nearer the end of this year, and then annually every December in advance of the next calendar year. If you paid in September 2020 your child is covered to play and train until the end of this year. New age groups which start in September this year will not have to pay until December. We will let you know as soon as registration opens. Thank you for your co-operation, Caroline, Keenan, Paul, Audrey.
CLUB GEAR: Christmas Club Gear is currently in the design stage and being finalised in the next few days. Orders will open for 12 days only from October 1st with delivery expected during the first week of December. As soon as designs are finalised, we’ll send out details.
LOTTO: The latest Lotto draw took place on Thursday, September 23 with the jackpot standing at €3,000. The numbers drawn were 4, 8, 28 and 29. Winners of the €50 lucky dips were E. Stack, Kilbane; D. Reale, @Club: J/M Griffin, Monaleen Park. Thank you for your continued support.
CAMOGIE
REGINA LONG MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT: Our U12 and U11 teams had a great morning of camogie on Sat 25th in Mungret. Each team had 3 group games with our U12 team playing Ahane, Granagh Ballingarry & Na Piarsaigh. In the first game Monaleen U12s were up against a strong Granagh side who were eventual winners by a goal. In the Ahane match Monaleen showed their skills and played some lovely camogie to have a win over Ahane. This was followed up by a win over Na Piarsiagh in their 3rd game. Our u12s just missed out on a place in the final as the head-to-head result against Granagh Ballingarry did not go our way.
Our U11 team played Mungret, Treaty Gaels and Tournafulla in 3 competitive matches. This tournament was a great learning experience for the U11s who will represent Monaleen again next year as U12s. The team showed some lovely camogie skills and were unlucky to lose their matches by 1 score only in each game. Well done to all involved from Monaleen, great to see so many of our players enjoying themselves while showcasing their camogie skills. Thanks to Mungret for the invite and we look forward to next year’s tournament already.
U10 UPDATE: On Saturday 25th our U10s hosted Sixmilebridge at the Clubhouse pitch. with high numbers on both sides 2 teams played a number of games. There was a very high standard of camogie from both sides with the Monaleen girls raising the bar continuously as they play more matches. Well done to all.
U9 UPDATE: Well done to our U9 team who had a great morning of camogie at home to Na Piarsiagh with each team playing 3 games. Both sides provided a highly competitive and entertaining morning of camogie. Well done to Rachel, Taylor and Milana who played their first U9 match for the club.
