BEST OF LUCK: Best of luck to Monaleen’s five representatives on the Limerick minor football squad in this Wednesday night’s Munster minor championship first round fixture with Tipperary at the LIT Gaelic Grounds at 7.30pm. The five Monaleen players involved in the squad are team captain Darragh Murray, Conall O’Duinn, Darragh Clifford, Stephen Kiely and Oisin O’Connor. It is a big honour for the club to have such a strong representation in the squad. Best of luck in Wednesday night’s game.
LIMERICK MINORS: Congrats to Monaleen’s Joseph Fitzgerald, Mark Field and Darragh Langan who have been included on the Limerick minor hurling squad for the 2021 championship campaign. Joseph Fitzgerald, who was a member of Limerick’s 2020 Munster minor championship winning side, is vice-captain of Limerick this year. Limerick face Cork in the Munster semi-final on Tuesday next, July 27 at Semple Stadium, Thurles at 7.30pm. Best of luck lads.

U16 CHAMPIONSHIP: Commiserations to our U16 team whose championship campaign came to an end on Tues night in the U16A Plate Semi Final against a strong Cappamore side. A tight first quarter ended with only a point between the sides with a Monaleen goal from an Ellie Madden free. A goal was the difference at half time with Cappamore ahead by 2-04 to 2-01. The second half was dominated by Cappamore however Monaleen rallied late in the 2nd half to bring the deficit to 4 points. Cappamore finished the game strongly and advanced to the A Plate final on a score line of 5-09 to 3-04. U10 CHALLENGE: Our U10 girls travelled to Murroe on Thursday evening for a challenge game, a great evening of camogie between these 2 teams. All the games are providing a great opportunity for this team to come together and playing very well together.
SUMMER LEAGUE: A busy week ahead for our Intermediate team with an away game to Ballybrown on Monday 19 and a home game to Ballyagran on Friday night. The Junior team play at home to Kilmallock on Thursday night.
COUNTY CAMOGIE: Hard luck to Caoimhe Lyons, Megan O’Mara & Limerick Senior team who were very unlucky to lose to Wexford in the first game in the Championship on Saturday. They now play Tipperary on Sunday 25th July.
Commiserations to Amy Burke, Ella Hession & Limerick Minor team who were defeated in Munster Final by a strong Cork team. Great to see the minors playing A championship camogie. Limerick will play Cork in their first All-Ireland Championship game on 01 August.
