An extremely busy week last week for Monaleen Camogie and great to see so many girls out playing Camogie for Monaleen & Limerick Camogie this week. It’s so great to be back at games again, all of which is very evident by the happiness of the players to be back on the pitch.
INTERMEDIATE: The Intermediate League continued on Monday evening with a home match v Croagh Kilfinny. It was another good performance from our girls against a very strong Croagh team. Monaleen started well leading 1-4 to 0-2 at the first water break. The lead was reduced at half time, but Monaleen pulled away in the final period to win by 3-14 to 2-6. A strong start to the 2nd half from St Ailbes left our girls trailing by 1-10 to 0-5 at the water break. Chances were created in the final quarter, but the lead was too much to close. Final score was Monaleen 0-7 to St Ailbes 1-13. Panel: Avril Kinnerk; Emily O’ Brien; Aoilean Hennessey; Megan O’ Keeffe; Aine Hegarty; Chloe Haugh; Charley Drury; Grace Malone; Saoirse Fitzgerald; Jenny Holmes; Keelan Corcoran; Shalini Kujur; Katie Golden; Kim Comerford; Ella McCarthy; Amy Kavanagh; Eimar Morgan; Abi Houlihan; Aimee O Brien.

After the break and with the wind on their side now, the Monaleen girls started to get into the game and the last quarter they dominated and showed what they have been doing in previous games. However it was too little too late this time as Killeedy came away with the deserved win and the points. Final score Killeedy 2-5 Monaleen 0-6. We now have a few weeks break and look forward as we prepare for the upcoming U14 championship.
