MONALEEN GAA CLUB NOTES
RETUN TO PLAY: The return to non-contact underage training in pods of 15 permitted in recent weeks has brought a new lease of life back to our clubhouse and Peafield Road pitches which are in tip top shape. It is great to see the excitement of all our budding young stars who have enjoyed their return to on-field training. We must continue to comply wholeheartedly with the guidelines set out for the return to under-age training in full. We thank everyone for their compliance in this regard.
Reminder to Parents:
– Face coverings must be worn at all times by parents. Please try and limit time spent on sidelines.
– Parents please keep 2m apart
– Complete Health Questionnaire (or reconfirm health status for subsequent training sessions)
– Bring own labelled water bottle
– Come togged out for training
– Use toilet before coming to training
– Do not share gear, water bottles etc with team mates
– Leave immediately after training
– Do not come to training if unwell

CONGRATULATIONS: Congrats to Monaleen’s Donal O’Sullivan who has been re-appointed as joint-captain of the Limerick senior football team for 2021 along with Newcastle West’s Iain Corbett. The players were also joint-captains in 2020 when Limerick enjoyed a very successful year, claiming the McGrath Cup, beating Cork in the final, before earning promotion to Division 3 of the Allianz Football League after winning Division 4. Best of luck to Donal, his team mates and management team in the year ahead. Congratulations also to Monaleen’s Rachel O’Dell who has been selected on the Limerick Ladies Gaelic football squad for the 2021 season. Limerick’s first outing in the Lidl Ladies National Football League will be away to Offaly on May 30. Best of luck to Rachel for the year ahead.

ALLIANZ HURLING LEAGUE: All-Ireland champions Limerick begin the defence of their Allianz Hurling League Division 1 title this Saturday evening when taking on Tipperary at the LIT Gaelic Grounds. Throw-in is at 5.30pm and the game is live on RTE 2 and eirsport TV. Best of luck to the Limerick players and management team.
