MONALEEN’S junior hurlers are in Munster Final action this afternoon when they take on Drom & Inch of Tipperary in Raheenagh at 2.30pm.
Eamonn O’Connell’s men come into the game on the back of an extra-time victory over Wolfe Tones na Siona in the semi-final. Monaleen qualified for the competition that is hosted by Kileedy GAA Club following their county championship final win over city rivals Ballybrown.
Max Ivory scored five points for Monaleen in the win over their Clare opponents and they will be looking for something similar against Drom & Inch side that go into the game as favourites. The Tipperary club had a comprehensive victory against St Oliver Plunkett’s of Cork in their semi-final.
Killeedy have hosted the the Munster and All-Ireland series since 2006 in all but one year. The 2021 competition was cancelled due to Covid.
Monaleen have returned to Junior A for the 2024 season following that victory over Ballybrown. They were relegated to Junior B in 2021.
