U10 Hurlers: Well done to our u10 hurlers who won the annual Naas u10 Hurling Tournament last weekend. Our 2 teams acquitted themselves brilliantly against top class opposition. The tournament also featured Ballyboden, Kilmacud Crokes, Dicksboro, Clarinbridge, Naas, St. Mary’s Clonmel and St. Olaf’s.
Camoige Notes:
This weekend saw 22 of our U8s take a trip to Ballingarry, where they again competed against Granagh-Ballingarry, Murroe-Boher and Cappamore, with a total of 10 teams playing 5 matches each. The girls’ striking and defensive skills are improving week by week, and they’re also getting more used to the physicality that comes with playing matches! Next Friday sees Cappamore hosting the group and we look forward another evening of fun and skillful camogie with this great group of girls!
The U9s played in the St Ailbes u10 blitz on Friday evening last.
We had 21 girls in action & , in total, we played 8 games
All girls did very well & had really enjoyed the camogie. Well done all.
Saturday Morning 18th June saw the third installment of our highly successful u11 blitzes at the Clubhouse.
Teams from Adare, Bruff, Croagh-Kilfinny, Granagh-Balligarry and Kildimo all travelled in to play along with 28 of our own Monaleen girls.
As with the earlier blitzes, the games were all keenly contested, but the most noticeable difference from the earlier incarnations was the standard of camogie on show. The competitive games have really sharpened up the girls skills, with all the teams pushing each other to new levels.
The girls are in a good place as we look forward to playing in the county u12 blitzes in the coming weeks.
