LIMERICK will be looking to make it five Munster senior hurling titles on the bounce when facing great rivals Clare in this year’s decider at the TUS Gaelic Grounds this Sunday, 1.45pm.

Limerick manager John Kiely spoke to the media today, Tuesday, ahead of the big showdown.

John Kiely said: “It’s so competitive and this has probably been the most competitive of the five. The others had their challenges in their own way, but this is definitely one where any of us could have qualified and we saw how it came down to the smallest margins.”

Limerick and Clare met in the round robin stage of the championship with Clare shocking the home side on a 1-24 to 2-20 scoreline. The Limerick manager says the rivalry between the Mid-West counties is as strong as ever.

“When you’ve two counties which are so, so close together and who mingle so much together between schools, colleges, work places, it’s bound to bring its own bit of magic to it,” he said.
