LIMERICK will look to keep their ‘Drive for Five’ on track when facing great rivals Cork in a mammoth All-Ireland SHC semi-final clash at Croke this Sunday, 4pm.
Limerick will look to reach their fifth All-Ireland final in-a-row this weekend and take another step closer to completing a five-in-a-row of Liam MacCarthy Cup wins.

The sides met earlier this year in round three of the Munster SHC where Cork defeated the Shannonsiders 3-28 to 3-26 at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
That was the only defeat Limerick have suffered throughout the 2024 Champiopnship. John Kiely’s side defeated Clare, Tipperary and Waterford in the round-robin series and made history in the Munster final winning their sixth Munster title in-a-row after a six point victory over Clare.
The Munster champions were rewarded with a place in the All-Ireland semi-final after their provincial final success.
After a slow start in the Munster Championship, Cork have turned their season around. At the start of the championship, it looked unlikely that ‘the Rebels’ would qualify out of Munster with Waterford and Clare defeating Pat Ryan’s side. However, since then Cork have recorded victories over Limerick, Tipperary, Offaly and Dublin.
The Leesiders have came through preliminary quarter-final and quarter final fixtures to reach the All-Ireland semi-final.
Limerick and Cork last met at the All-Ireland semi-final stage in 2018.
That game was one of the greatest hurling games in the last decade with Limerick prevailing after extra time.
