Limerick Camogie Championship final spots booked after dramatic weekend of semi-final results:

FINAL spots have been booked in the Limerick Camogie Championship after a dramatic weekend of semi-final results across all the grades.

In the Limerick Senior Cup semi-finals Ahane secured a narrow two-point victory over Bruff to book their spot in the final in two weeks time. This was Bruff’s first loss of the entire championship with Ahane securing the the tough 1-12 to 2-7 win in the semi.

Newcastle West powered home another significant victory in the championship with a 1-19 to 1-7 win over Na Piarsaigh in the opposing semi-final.

This now sets up an incredibly exciting cup final between Ahane and Newcastle West set for Saturday, October 12 at 5pm, venue to be confirmed.

One of the most dramatic results of the semi-finals came from the Senior Plate game between Monaleen and Adare, with neither side able to the winning score after regular and extra-time. This lead to the game to go to 45’s. With the light fading Adare overcame their opponents after an incredible battle eventually winning out 4-2 on 45’s.

Killeedy will play Adare in the Senior Plate final after a tight 0-16 to 2-7 victory over Crecora in their semi-final last Saturday. There is no venue or time set for the plate final as of yet.

In the Gerald Griffins Intermediate Cup semi-finals Croagh/Kilfinny continued on their impressive winning streak after topping group one. They overcame Templeglantine by three goals, 3-7 to 0-7, to move onto the Intermediate Cup final.

They will face Granagh-Ballingarry in this year’s final which will act as a double header with the Senior Cup final on October 12 at 3pm, venue to be confirmed. Granagh-Ballingarry came out victors over Patrickswell, 2-9 to 1-10 in their semi-final over the weekend.

Cappamore received a bye into the final of the Intermediate plate final as Murroe-Boher took on Gallbally for a spot in the final. Murroe-Boher came out on top, 1-7 to 1-3, to move on to the plate final.

The Waste Ward Junior A championship is still in the group stages with round four taking place over the weekend. St Ailb’es captured a one-point victory over Feenagh-Kilmeedy to remain in second place of group one. Newcastle West recorded a confident 2-7 to 0-3 win over Killeedy.

While in group two Ballybrown overcame Mungret St Paul’s by a single point, 2-3 to 0-8, as Monaleen struggled against Doon in the final round four game of the Junior A competition.
